Positive: Gavin's place is a full apartment in a nice gated community near Haikou airport. Gavin was very good with communication and available to help us get settled in.

Negative: We had some initial confusion about how to pay. Alipay didn't work for us, and we weren't given the option to pay through booking.com. This led to some confusion getting setup in the proper initially. My recommendation to hosts is to use booking.com payment systems, it's a bit more expensive but a lot less hassle for guests.

Positive: Excellent service and amazing support by the owner and assistant, we had no means of meal support and transportation they arranged it and help us navigate the local area and support arrival and departure. Apartment was amazing, very spacious family friendly and quality amenities.

Positive: Gavin is a lovely host, he made us feel so welcome and accommodated a last minute date change and an early check in hassle free. Apartment was clean and comfortable. It was a huge relief to have an English speaker contact in the city during our stay. Would recommend to any English speakers travelling to Haikou!
