Regional District of Nanaimo House | Eagle Haven Parksville: your oceanfront retreat

5 Bedroom House in Regional District of Nanaimo, Parksville

Sip your morning latte on the private expansive deck above the Strait of Georgia & bask in nature’s tranquility. We have counted 20+ eagles here in season. Deer amble by, and graze leisurely on the various fruit trees in summer.
This recently renovated 2700 sq foot house pays homage to its Mid-century Modern roots while adding new flooring, kitchen cabinets & updated bathrooms.
Memories await!
Located on a cul-de-sac, we receive comments from guest after guest on how private and quiet of a space that this is. Truly a haven in the city.
While the property is oceanfront, we are high-bank (50-75 feet above sea level) and there is limited direct access to the water below. A public beach access point with a series of stairs is a short 8 minute walk away, and the Parksville main community park and beach are seven minutes via car.
*** As of August 2023, we have begun restoration of the trail that leads to the water, but it is a work in progress. Trip and fall hazards remain, and the trail is very slippery when wet. As such, the trail remains as a closed area. Use at your own risk. If you or any of your group have mobility/stability issues we recommend and request that you stay off of the trail. Do not use when wet. We cannot and do not accept any liability for your decision to set foot below the main grade of the property. ***
Our home is well equipped with a newer (all are 2021) cooktop, two full-size refrigerators, and a Bosch dishwasher. For the barista in your group we provide a burr grinder & espresso maker.
Play endless games of pool in the billiards room.
Sleep soundly on newer (July 2021) mattresses
- Haven LUX Hybrid Pillowtop queen (in the Primary and bedroom 1)
- Stearns and Foster king (bedroom 2)
- dual Haven LUX Rejuvenate queens (flex room optional setup)
- Ikea day bed (in the kids' playroom) that converts from a single to a pull out double.
The whole house is yours - no shared spaces here :)
For security, each booking is provided with a unique access code to the August smartlock.
The stairs that lead up to the main deck are both wider and at a more gentle pitch than normal, allowing more easy access for folks with more limited mobility.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eagle Haven! We stayed with extended family from Ontario for my mother's milestone birthday and found the property to be perfect for our gathering. We ate most of meals on the lovely deck, enjoying the panoramic ocean views, the eagles, and deer that wandered through the yard. The home was very comfortable and well-equipped. Lynda and Neill were easy and pleasant to communicate with. It was clear that they truly cared about their guests' experience as they were thoughtful, attentive and responsive throughout our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better family reunion and birthday celebration!

Summary: Finding a house for that many people is not easy so we were very happy to find this gem. We all loved the view and even saw dolphins right from the Deck. And off course some eagles and raccoons. The inside of the house is very spacious and everyone was happy to have space for some quiet time. Big thank you!!

Summary: This was the perfect property for 3 generations ages 12-84 to stay for a family gathering. The kids loved the pool table and beachcombing just below the property on the beach. The seniors were able to relax and sit watching the eagles and the ocean. Everyone else cooked in the gourmet kitchen and enjoyed the area. There were so many things to see within a short drive. The owners were easy to contact and so helpful with extra suggestions of places to visit. Super comfortable beds and we loved the stylish decor. We would love to come back some day!

Summary: Large, well-maintained property on cul-de-sac with large patio and impressive views of the ocean and bald eagles. Kitchen is fully equipped and house plus patios allow people to spread out. While property is on the ocean, there currently is no direct beach access - there is beach access a 10 minute walk away but best to drive to town or Rathtrevor

Summary: Our family of 9 thoroughly enjoyed staying on this property. This home is beautiful & spacious. The hosts thought of everything (down to beach towels for daily trip to the amazing Parksville beach!). Watching the eagles up above, the ocean at our finger tips & the daily deer visits was a treat! Chilling on the expansive deck with fire table in the evening was magical. The kids scootered on the quiet cul de sac street constantly! I would recommend this special property to anyone!

Summary: We had the best time at Eagle Haven. The house is beautiful and fits 11 persons easily. The beds ar really good as well as the showers, kitchen and all other facilities. We loved spending the evenings at the deck around the fireplace. The location and view is stunning. We loved to say good morning to the eagles and wave at the seals that swim by in the sea. The possibility to walk down to the beach from the backyard is so much fun. Lynda and Neill are great hosts. We can’t wait to visit again once we’re back in Canada. Absolute 10/10 recommended.

Summary: Our Senior Girls basketball team stayed at Eagle Haven during our provincial championships. The house had everything that we would need for a large group. We appreciated being able to have space to do team dinners and games, while also still having spaces to get some quiet time. Would highly recommend it for teams or for a family get together.
