Escape to Mimburi- a wonderfully secluded and peaceful getaway where you can relax and reconnect with nature.
Set on 95 acres of tranquil bush land abutting the Bellthorpe National Park, Mimburi is home to an array of birds and wildlife. It’s an absolute treat to wake up to the symphony of birdsongs every morning. Some of our local wildlife include wallabies, kangaroos, goannas, wild deer, echidnas and the occasional koala.
Your spacious (72 sq. metres) studio touts exposed wooden trusses, contemporary furnishings, polished cement flooring, fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and a wood fired heater (firewood provided). A 55 inch Smart TV with Netflix plus a Bluetooth enabled sound bar are provided for your viewing and listening pleasure. Organic cotton bed linen, towels, organic toiletries, tea , coffee and cooking essentials are included. Stay a couple of nights or even a week or more as the kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, crockery and modern appliances including a full-sized fridge/freezer, microwave oven plus a gas oven and cooktop.
We have two open fire pit areas for you to enjoy, relax and inhale the breathtaking vista. The main house fire pit area, showcasing unhindered views of Mt. Beerwah, Mt. Tibrogargan and Mt. Coonowrin is a shared area which guests can enjoy in the morning and afternoon. The”pit in the paddock “ fire pit area is exclusively for guests with wonderful views of Mt. Beerwah, the twin peaks of Mt.Tububudla and the Cedarton Valley. Reclining in our Adirondack chairs, you can enjoy the setting sun illuminating the mountains (for the early risers sunrise can be spectacular). As night falls the uninterrupted star scape will amaze. Firewood and kindling is provided. We also have a portable gas BBQ which can be set up outside the studio or at the fire pit area.
We pride ourselves on providing a beautifully clean and environmentally friendly space. We generate our own electricity through our large solar system and harvest our own filtered rainwater for cleaning and drinking (no chemicals). We also use a Biolytic Waste Management System to process all waste in an environmentally friendly manner. No chemicals are used on the property.

Summary: Mimburi is a wonderful eco-friendly mountain getaway, which feels delightfully isolated yet is within easy reach of towns and walking trails in the Glasshouse Mountains. The studio is spacious and very clean, with beautiful surroundings and terrific views. Great care has clearly been taken to ensure that everything you could need is available. Freshly baked bread and a breakfast plate is provided upon arrival. We especially appreciated the efforts made to incorporate environmentally friendly energy, water, and products.

Summary: Chris and Donna have a beautiful location and we were very thankful they decided to share it with us! The studio is the perfect place for 2 people. It has everything you need if you’d like to stay in, but it’s also really close to lots of beautiful little towns that you don’t have to if you’d rather explore. It’s also just a short stroll from the studio down the hill to a fire pit with a view of the Glass House Mountains, as well as comfy chairs to star gaze in. Chris and Donna are very kind hosts as well, and the love they have for their little corner of the world is clear in every little detail. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Summary: Donna and Chris were amazing hosts. We stayed 2 nights, would love to stay longer. The studio is amazing, as is the location. Everything was brilliant. Breakfast was included with Donna's homemade bread and beans the highlight. We even received marshmallows for the fire pit! The studio had everything we needed.Highly recommended and we will back to take on the driveway fun run :-) Thanks for sharing your awesome part of the world with us.

Summary: The studio is spacious, spotless and beautifully furnished. It is private and located in its own garden area. The studio itself does not look onto the Glasshouse mountains but the views from up or down the hill at the guest fire pit are amazing and easily accessible. Lots of birds and wildlife. Chris and Donna are generous hosts with Donna providing home- made bread and a wonderful starter breakfast as well as plentiful pods for the Nespresso machine. Chris and Donna have developed a wonderful off -grid and sustainable home which is a pleasure to be able to enjoy. Highly recommended.

Summary: The property was a little hard to find and access a little difficult but the studio was absolutely beautiful. We loved the aspect and amenities. The breakfast hamper was awaiting us. Donna could not be more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
