El Dorado Lodge, with its babbling streams, harkens back and honors the history of the area's golden era.
El Dorado, (meaning The Golden) is a beautiful and rustic lodge that is more than just a cabin.
First, what’s the difference between a cabin and a lodge?
A cabin is a quaint place with some rustic decor. A lodge is MORE than just a cabin. With this lodge you have room to explore. There is enough land to spread out and actually feel and enjoy nature. You're on a compound. A lodge can have a campsite or area separate from the cabin. Often times an enclosed lodge compound will have a stream, pond, lake or some form of natural water feature with direct access. El Dorado Lodge has the privacy, enclosure, natural water feature, with land to enjoy and explore, a campsite and a gorgeous authentic log sided cabin. You can sit on the front porch and listen to the birds chatter, or you can melt your worries away hearing what the whispering creeks are saying to you. Everyone hears a special message just for them. It’s very tranquil and unique here. Your experience here will be memorable.
By day, play or cool off in the calm but flowing streams or have a picnic in the hallow. By night, enjoy the large rustic gazebo and camp site by the stream, while treating yourself to a fire. Roast some marshmallows and make some s'mores. Forget the calories. Have a drink and relax. The twilight brings with it the lighting effects that are welcoming and beautiful. There are many great photo opportunities at El Dorado Lodge.Things you won’t see anywhere else. Make memories and take photos by the classic pickup or by the Classic Cadillac mascot. Take other memorable photos next to 9ft tall El Dorado Lodge protector, “Chief Running Streams” or next to the 10 ft Totem pole. There are even more photo opportunities at the streams or at the beautiful campsite. This is a special place. Different than any other Cabin vacation. Here we honor Cherokee Indian heritage and the pioneer spirit.
This is a larger 2 bedroom, one bath cabin. It's almost 1500 Square feet. The driveway has room to turn around. The road to the cabin is level and not treacherous. The bedrooms are very large and not confining. There's room to walk around, and they're very comfortable too! The living room and dining area are spacious. The cabin boasts a three sided wrap around deck with two porches! The front porch offers amazing and beautiful views of two converging streams right below as well as the wooded hills and the cleared hallow. The cabin itself has rustic decor with the appropriate modern conveniences. The cabin gives you a great rustic feel that will satisfy any traditionalist. The lodges owner is a Cadillac aficionado, and since an Eldorado is his favorite classic Cadillac... the Lodge melds the areas rich gold mining heritage and America's premier classic automotive marque. His unique art combines the two in whimsical ways. And, if you love trains, Indian culture, aliens and spaceships as well as the lore of Bigfoot... this is the place for you.
This property is unique and expansive. If you have ever rented a cabin, you know that location is key. El Dorado Lodge is easy to get to....AND it's in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountain scene. It's an easy road to the lodge, and it's only 3.2 miles to the heart of the trendy and quaint village of Historic Ellijay! Ellijay has some of the best restaurants around. To top it off, It’s only 12 miles straight to the tourist town of Blue Ridge too! This area has it all! This is the Napa Valley of Georgia! Wineries in every direction! If action is your thing.. go ziplining, go tubing or take a scenic train ride! How about following a trail or heading to an orchard?! Maybe you're here for a festival for which this area is famous ... Either way, there's plenty to do.....Or, do nothing but listen to what the whispering creeks are trying to tell you. It will help settle your mind and calm you in ways you never thought possible. Keep the TV off. Relax.
But, no matter what.... since this IS the Bigfoot capital of America... you definitely NEED to check out the Bigfoot Museum in Cherry Log. It's only 5 miles away, and it too is very unique and very cool!
No hot tub is offered, because it takes away from the ambiance of what El Dorado Lodge offers. When you have nothing else to offer... offer a hot tub. We have a lot to offer. Come and enjoy a REAL mountain cabin experience.

We’re not after the most bookings... we’re after the best guests. We choose each other. We think this place is pretty special. We think you will agree. We give a lot, and we’re here for you. So to start, we’d like to be above board.
We prefer two guests but can accommodate 4.
Every camp and camp counselor has rules that we must abide by..... And we know FEW people like limitations or rules, but we want to provide the HIGHEST quality to YOU.. our wonderful guests.

*The cabin is suitable for well supervised kids 12 or older only. Message us for possible exceptions. RESPECTFUL children may be honored.
*No smoking or vaping. We need to take a stance on smoking here..
Absolutely no smoking in the cabin or on the porch. If you must smoke, you can smoke by the campsite fire pit... but you must pocket all butts and NOT put the butts in the trash bin or in the fire pit. They stink. Take them with you in a plastic baggie. Please respect this. A penalty could be assessed. If you NEED to smoke or vape, feel free to book another cabin. Please, let’s not put each other in a predicament. Our future non smoking guests thank you!
The mountains have bugs...and due to fleas, ticks and chiggers... we can’t take the chance of cabin infestation. Sooo...
*No animals of any sort or for any condition or reason. There WILL be a $250 assessment. Please find a pet friendly cabin. Our allergic future guests thank you!
*No parties/events or hosting.
*4 person maximum total. (We prefer two though. )However, if you book for two... then your stay is booked for two.
