Summary: We had a great stay at La Tour Saint Gelin. The gite is ideally situated and is a great base to go and explore the many attractions in the area. We had a great time playing the monument game in Chinon castle ; we also visited the stables of the Cadre Noir in Saumur, the Bioparc in Doue-la-Fontaine and the public gardens in Richelieu. The gite is situated in a peaceful hamlet, overlooking fields and the area is a great spot for birdwatchers (little owls, hoopoes, Montagu's harrier, great grey shrikes, zitting cisticola, ...). The owners, Dominique and Lydia, were very helpful and friendly and the whole family had a lovely holiday.

Summary: Charmant huis in een zeer rustige omgeving. Je loopt zo vanuit huis de natuur en het bos in, waar veel wild te zien is. Reeën, hazen, vossen en uilen gezien ! Wijn bij de boer kopen, kasteel bekijken en middeleeuwse stadjes zijn dichtbij. Leuke ontvangst , met koekjes en verse eitjes, aardige eigenaar die alles doet voor een prettig verblijf! De omheinde binnentuin is ideaal voor kinderen en dieren.

Summary: Boerderij is smaakvol gerestaureerd en van alle moderne gemakken voorzien. Ruime locatie voor 5 personen met twee terrassen. Super rustige omgeving met veel cultureel erfgoed in omgeving. Een aanrader.

Summary: It is a large house, with beautiful views at the side and back. The owner was very welcoming showing us around. It is at the end of a small road with farmhouses but it is generally very quiet which we enjoyed. You have direct access to woodland and paths to walk with your dogs but when we were there in October, there were hunters in the woods (there are hunter's hides everywhere) which made us slightly nervous, eventhough one of them reassured us, saying we had nothing to fear. Nice trips to Richelieux (beautiful parc, shops) and the Loire valley (L'Ile Bouchard and Chinon offer great walks along the Vienne river, too).

Summary: De eigenaar verwachtte ons want we hadden gebeld wanneer we ongeveer zouden aankomen. Het huis zag er goed uit, we kregen een rondleiding van de eigenaar die overigens ook wat Engels spreekt. De omgeving is landelijk en bleek heerlijk rustig te zijn. Uitzicht op een aspergebed, zonnebloemen en een bosstrook. Het huis ligt aan de rand van een buurtje. In de buurt is het goed fietsen, niet al te geaccidenteerd en ook lekker rustig. Er zijn veel kastelen en andere historische gebouwen te bezoeken. Ook is het mogelijk om wijn te proeven bij de vele wijnhuizen in de buurt. Richelieu is een leuke plaats om te bezoeken, er is een groot park waar je in kunt rondlopen en ook zijn er in de plaats zelf verschillende dingen te bezichtigen. in verschillende dorpen in de buurt is er een bakker en in Richelieu en L’ile Bouchard zijn supermarkten. Van de eigenaar kregen we wat lekkernijen waar onder tomaten uit eigen tuin en een potje jam. Allebei erg lekker. We hebben een goede tijd gehad in dit huis. Het huis zelf is van van ruim voldoende comfort voorzien. We hebben vanwege het schitterende weer voornamelijk buiten verbleven. Een overdekt terras aan de ene kant en een mooie binnenplaats aan de andere kant. In de avond hoorde je uilen roepen en zag je vleermuizen langsvliegen. Dit huis is een aanrader!

Summary: Heel vriendelijke eigenaar, ontvangst met een heerlijk flesje wijn en vers fruit. Prachtig huis, van alle gemakken voorzien, alleen de bank is minder. Verder in perfecte staat en heerlijk schoon. Fijne binnentuin waar de kinderen lekker zonder toezicht kunnen spelen, In de ochtend al zon, waardoor je het ontbijt al vrolijk begint. Rondom het huis nog een ruime tuin met 2 zitjes en ligstoelen onder een afdak, fijn als de zon erg fel is. Tuin is groot genoeg om lekker te frisbeeen, voetballen etc. Het huis ligt rustig in een piepklein dorpje, voor boodschappen zul je met de auto moeten, maar dat is overal in Frankrijk, dan heb je wel keuze uit meerdere supermarkten. Bakker in Richelieu, loop dan meteen door naar het park van de Kardinaal van Richelieu, erg mooi aangelegd. Vele chateaus die met de auto te bereiken zijn, Chambord is wel het meest indrukwekkend. Heel veel wijngebieden in de omgeving, waar de wijnboeren je gastvrij ontvangen als je wat wilt proeven èn kopen. Je kunt natuurlijk ook naar de coöperatieve proefkelders gaan. Al met al een hele fijne vakantie gehad, voor herhaling vatbaar!

Summary: Vriendelijke ontvangst door eigenaar. Is rustig gelegen en veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen (in het bos) met de hond. Het huis is ruim opgezet met een fijne binnentuin voor de hond. Tevens ook een overkapping waar je heerlijk tot laat in de avond kunt zitten.
