Positive: I had an amazing time at the Encounter Garden! The Hosts are super friendly, although they speak little English they make an effort and communicate via phone and translators which works perfectly fine. They even drive you to the entrance of the Great Wall which is super convenient (just a 5 minute drive to the closest and less touristy part). The guesthouse looks very cute with all the flowers and little lights which made it extremely comfortable. The food was very delicious and they always provided huge portions! They also invite you to do some activities together such as dumplings and sachet making - so fun! I would definitely recommend staying here! Also staying for several nights makes sense as you can visit several parts from the wall on different days ◡̈

Positive: I truly have no words to describe how incredible this stay has been. This has been one of the best experiences of my life here in China. It wasn’t just about the location of the guesthouse, though that alone is amazing, being right next to a less touristy and more peaceful section of the Great Wall, perfect for hiking without the crowds. What made this stay truly unforgettable was everything else: the beautiful room, the convenience, the atmosphere, the amazing homemade food (incredibly delicious) and above all, the warmth and kindness of the people who work there. The people here will go above and beyond to help you plan your day, organise your trips to the Great Wall, and make sure you feel completely at home. Their support and friendliness made such a difference in my journey. But what made this place even more special were the people I met. The staff organized incredible cultural activities like dumpling-making, traditional crafts, and karaoke nights that brought everyone together. It felt like a beautiful exchange of cultures and such a meaningful bonding experience. I was so touched by how warm and welcoming everyone was. The people working at the guesthouse made me feel like I was part of their family. I didn’t expect to feel so at home, but I truly did. I will definitely come back. I’ve made unforgettable memories here, and this place now holds a very special place in my heart. I know this won’t be my last time—I’ll return again for sure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I 100% recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting the Great Wall. 下次见 💖

Positive: Now.. this one started very badly.. they overbooked the hotel and had to place us on a nearby place.. the nearby place was not cleaned to my expectations..but, they were all SO AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY, that I have no words to express.. the main hotel looked cosy and cute and although I didn't get to experience the room, I can certainly say that their hospitality was of a 5* hotel. They handled the situation well with what they had to offer.. gave us bfast, allowed us to have 2 rooms at the other place, helped us with luggage, helped us with exchanging money... simply amazing. We had dinner at their restaurant and the food was divine... so, although I didn't experience their room, I would definitely come back to try again! The hotel is a 30min walk to the great wall, which btw is 🥰♥️🔥.
Negative: That i had to sleep at another hotel.. haha.. buuut, life happens and they were great people!

Positive: We had an unforgettable stay at this guest house. Their small team is incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to ensure your comfort, creating a warm, community-like atmosphere. We enjoyed participating in the art and craft session and the dumpling-making experience—both were so much fun! They even kindly dropped us off at the Great Wall and picked us up when we were finished. The food was exceptional, made with fresh ingredients, and they even serve specialty coffee like lattes, which was a delightful bonus. Keep in mind that the guest house is in a rural area, and the rooms are simple, but staying here was definitely the best decision. Our daughter was so sad to leave and keeps asking when we can return! 😅
