Welcome to your serene woodland retreat! This expansive cabin comfortably sleeps 12, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, cozy living area, and ample outdoor space. Relax in the private hot tub, roast marshmallows at the fire pit, or hike the exclusive trails right on the property. Whether you're planning a family reunion or a getaway with friends, this cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature.
We do not live on site but we are nearby and are available if needed.
Solitude sits on 22 beautiful private acres with its own hiking trails—and it borders over 200 additional acres of protected forest through the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy, giving you direct access to wide-open natural beauty. While it feels totally tucked away, you're just minutes from Loudonville's charming shops, restaurants, canoeing, ziplining, go-karts, mini golf, and more. Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm, Snow Trails, and Ohio’s Amish Country are all an easy drive away, offering endless options for day trips and outdoor adventure.
Solitude is just a short drive off a state route, but please note the gravel driveway includes a slight incline. From December 1st to April 1st, we strongly recommend a vehicle with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) to ensure safe access—especially during snow or icy conditions. Your safety and comfort are our top priority, so plan accordingly during winter months.
Welcome to your private retreat—22 acres of peaceful seclusion, perfect for making lasting memories with family and friends. This 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is designed for gathering, with a spacious great room featuring a stunning stone fireplace and oversized windows that bring the outdoors in. Step outside to unwind in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit, and soak up the views from the expansive patio. It’s the ideal setting for connection, relaxation, and a little adventure too.
This is a rural property. We are within easy driving distance from Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm, Snow Trails Ski Lodge, Amish country, and more.
We do not provide firewood but there is a roadside stand that sells firewood just around the corner from the Mohican Pines cabins. The address is 2318 State Route 97, sometimes referred to as Cleveland Street. It’s self serve.

Summary: The Host was extremely accommodating. We found ourselves ahead of schedule and after a single text, the host allowed us to check in 2 hours early. The interior decorating/furniture were some of the best we have seen in a VRBO. The grounds were beautiful. The kitchen well-equipped. Just a lovely place!

Summary: This is our third year staying at Solitude. It has everything you would want to stay and spend time with loved ones in nature! It’s clean, up to date on everything, beautifully decorated, set in a secluded woods, close to trails and activities if you choose, and even has a hot tub and fire pit!Excellent hosts! Highly recommend! Thank you!

Summary: A very attractive, pleasant and comfortable property with an "everything works perfectly" kitchen and plenty of room for our entire family group of 8 adults and 2 kids .. only relatively minor problems, the TV remote needs replaced as it works very poorly and the hot tub had some kind of issue and stopped functioning during the later part of our stay .. the nearest town (Butler) has absolutely nothing going for it, but there are a couple nice eating places farther up the road at I-71 and Rt 97 in Bellville and, as it was the week between Christmas and New Years, the decorations and lighting display at Kingwood Center a little farther yet up the road in Mansfield were super nice .. Summary: The 5 of us high school friends plan an annual retreat in the fall. This cabin fit all our needs and was so clean and cozy! We loved the soft leather couch and fireplace and all the convieniences provided in the kitchen. Also loved the big dining room table to play games and do crafts. The beds were all very comfortable and we liked that there were many bathrooms. Thank you for sharing your beautiful solitude cabin!

Summary: Property was perfect...communication with owner was great, she responded very quickly to all of our questions. Most properties we stay at usually have poor bedding...but this is the first one we've stayed at where EVERYONE loved the beds and slept great!!! Can't think of anything that needs improved upon !!!
