4 Bedroom Place in Pomy

Spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms + downstairs loo. Downstairs is a spacious sitting room, dining room, well equipped kitchen, laundry room & enclosed veranda. The bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs plus a second huge sitting room (a converted barn) with a kitchenette and a mezzanine accessed via a spiral staircase (this has an extra double bed). Leading off this sitting room is an open terrace, with table and chairs and a lovely view. A further very large covered terrace leads off the main bedroom, also accessed from the kitchen via spiral staircase. This has a picnic table, lounge chairs and a ping-pong table. Outside is a rambling wild garden with plenty of parking. The house is very rural, surrounded by farmland and woods, with many lovely walks. We have seen deer, sanglier, red squirrels, badgers, foxes and coypu on our land.
We have free WiFi, English TV, CD player, ipod player and radio
A gas barbeque is available, plus a high chair and a cot, well behaved pets are welcome. The house is fairly remote although we do have neighbours behind us. A car is esential. The nearest town is Limoux (20 minutes away) with supermarkets, shops and cafes.

Summary: Despite the fact that the house was really cold when we arrived, the heating system is really efficient and the two fireplaces as well!Le Rouget is bigger than what the pictures let you think about it...enough room for 3 couples and their kids. Far from facilities, but really quiet and nice landscape with horses in front of the house.Plus: covered terrace with ping pong table, lot of sofas, warming decoration, and really welcoming host (thank you Penny!).Hope we come back. :)

Summary: This is a high quality property far surpassing the description in the listing. All domestic facilities were first rate. Situated in the heart of the Aude countryside, to the south the Pyrenees are within easy reach and to the North, the towns of Limoux and Carcassonne are only 15 and 40 minutes driving time respectively.The property is large: we were 4 couples and space was not an issue. The House Manager was on hand to provide useful local information on all subjects.During our stay we visited Narbonne, and Toulouse which are within easy commuting distance, but there is also wildlife to be enjoyed within the perimeter of the property.We would certainly recommend this location to friends and family and look forward ourselves to a return visit.
