Summary: We had the “fairmount gold” package and I would strongly recommend. The staff were so helpful and kind. The packages includes so many additions and is was worth the upgrade. The property has been renovated and is simply the best in Victoria.

Summary: We stayed here for two nights in a room with two double beds. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well. The hotel’s biggest advantage is its location. It’s within walking distance of the marina, shopping, restaurants, and many tour departure points, making it a great base for exploring the area. That said, the hotel definitely shows its age. It’s well maintained, but it’s still an older property, and that was noticeable throughout our stay. We didn’t mind the classic décor, but the rooms felt dated. The room itself was quite small, and the bathroom was even smaller, making the space feel cramped. We chose this hotel because we wanted to experience this hotel brand during our trip to Canada. While our stay was comfortable enough, we don’t think we’d stay here again. We simply prefer newer hotels with modern design, more spacious rooms, and updated amenities.

Summary: The room was spotless, literally. The bathroom fixtures were shiny with NO water stains! The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy that I had to drag my wife out of bed - we were late checking out because she didn’t want to leave but the staff was very understanding. A friend suggested a hotel that was close but it was more expensive than the Empress, not as conveniently located a none of the old school charm. We went to the tea shoppe before our sitting for high tea and I loved that I was given a’cheat sheet’ to assist me and my wife in choosing our tea. I look forward to a return visit.

Summary: The Empress is a truly great hotel. The staff was amazing, the rooms were very nice - comfortable and clean, and the meals we had were delicious with amazing service. The location is perfect right in the middle of the city. All of the staff are so friendly all the time and willing to help you out and go the extra mile.

Summary: Beautiful outside, perfect location for walking. Hotel has tiniest of bathrooms, common to old hotels No lobby coffee, which I find unacceptable. Manager offered to deliver coffee next morning. Up and ready at 6:30… never showed. So, all in all, I’d stay somewhere else next time. Not worth it
