Beautifully restored light, spacious & well equipped with quality amenities throughout, this peaceful, secluded house is ideal for families and couples wishing to share all that the Dordogne and Aquitaine & Charente have to offer. Large 14 metre child safe gated pool within 25 metres of the house., Coutancie enjoys a south facing sunny aspect nestling in a Perigourdine valley, & the house benefits from beautiful surrounding countryside and easy access to shops, supermarkets, market towns and many authentic French cafes & restaurants. The large patio with BBQ and outside dining table, plus the well equipped kitchen will also help for those days you prefer to just laze by the pool, read and take in the beautiful surroundings. Sleeps 6 plus 2 (2 children on sofa bed/Zbed or cot for under 2s). Please note the pool is not available from October to mid-May . Although unheated, the pool is swimmable from early May through to late October.

For the cyclists, there's over 2000 km of MTB tracks with cycle hire available in Riberac, and for walkers and wildlife connoisseurs, the surrounding forests and lakes have plenty to offer.
In addition to the rivers, there are also lakes at Jemaye and Chandos for watersports, swimming, canoe hire, windsurfing with restaurants, water parks with slides and lots of other kids activities.

Summary: We enjoyed the stay in the house of Sarah and Bob very much. The house is clean, well equiped, just anything you might need is there. The swimmingpool is nice. It was not too busy, onely two other houses were occuped so not too crowded in the pool. In the opinion of the kids (13 - 16), there was a little lack of things to do in the area, but of course that is a matter of taste. If you like peace and quiet, hiking, nice villages and wide views, this is the place to be!

Summary: A wonderful peaceful and relaxing stay with our family. Great views of the countryside from the patio where you can watch the sunset and relax. The house has everything you need and a cool table football for some family competition.

Summary: A really nice authentic barn with all comfort needed. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet and full of sun flower fields. The swimming pool and the petanque field were our favorites! The barn itself is a nice place with a well equipped kitchen, lots of bathrooms and comfortable beds, several games, books and dvds. In the neighbourhood canoe activities in Brantôme, also a nice place to be. Here you can enjoy a nice quiet family time!!

Summary: We had a lovely week in this house. The accommodation was perfect for 2 adults and 3 children (including 2 teens). Sarah, the owner, was in touch with us to make sure everything was ok and had thought of everything we could have needed for a perfect holiday, including beach towels. We made good use of the pool which was lovely and so was the view. There is lots to do in the area including kayaking, lake beaches, and some great restaurants nearby. We would certainly consider returning, and would definitely recommend it.

Summary: We had a wonderful week here exploring the lakes and rivers, shopping in colourful markets, splashing about in the pool and enjoying the wonderful views and starry night skies. The house is really lovely to come home to after a day out in the sun (it was 44 degrees at times) and by the end of the week the children (aged 7 and 4) said it felt like home. We particularly valued the fact it was so well equipped - the beach towels we're so useful - and the large number of bathrooms felt a real luxury. Thank you Sarah and family for making it such a relaxing and memorable stay.
