Positive: The owner, his wife (the boss) and the staff were marvellous. It provides a real home from home vibe while maintaining a high professional standard. The food was very good and the entire stay was good value for money.

Positive: I was actually on my way to Shropshire but was caught out by the fog and twixmas traffic jams. Pulled off the M40 and by chance parked in the Fox and Goat car park. Looked on booking.com for overnight accommodation, saw there were rooms available at the Fox and Goat. It made my day (and night!). Thanks to the landlord Stuart Joy ( no relation) I felt welcome. A very happy stopover.

Positive: Lovely rooms with very friendly staff who were so understanding when we accidentally took the key with us. The food in the restaurant was also delicious.

Negative: The hand shower needed fixing.
