Positive: Lovely cottage, very tastefully decorated. Beautiful garden. All exactly as described and even better than we expected. Extremely well equipped kitchen, including some tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, which we enjoyed at our arrival. There’s a wine fridge in the kitchen. Oven in the sitting-room functional. Note: Parking down the street was never a problem during our stay, but could potentially become tricky during the summer holidays.
Negative: It would be good if there were some kind of heating in the bathrooms. It was just about OK in cool and rainy March weather, but would be too cold in winter or autumn, particularly if travelling with very young children (which we weren’t).
Summary: Lovely little cottage, in a quintessentially English village. We very much enjoyed the house and Castle Combe.

Positive: The property was comfortable and warm. Kitchen was well equipped. We attended a Christmas Carol concert at the local church which was lovely.
Negative: The property was advertised as having off road parking, this was not available and needed to be paid for locally on top of the rental cost. No welcome hamper which was a shame but we bought lots of provisions with us.
Summary: Comfortable cottage to use as a base.

Positive: Wonderful quirky old cottage which my grandchildren loved ( lots of hiding places) also lovely garden .
Negative: The bathroom arrangement not the best but manageable. The parking there was never a place on the road so needed to use public car park up the road .

Negative: the neighbors who scolded us for turning around on the "private road". The instructions did warn, but we hadn't read the "welcome" book before incident.

Positive: this property was stunning, it was like walking into a movie set. so nicely updated but with tons of charm and comfort. It had so many thoughtful amenities such as everything needed for young kids ( baby gate, high chair, plastic cups and a bed) and things like extra blankets and pillows and baskets for laundry. Such a great retreat. The back garden is a dream. the owners also left a great guide book with useful info. Even though Castle Combe is a top attraction for tourists the mornings and evenings were fairly quiet we had no issue parking on the Street. there are also some footpath trails that connect from the road to the village center
Negative: Bugs. no ding on the property though, it’s a country property and the bugs can move in fast even after being cleaned away. might be useful if the property had a stick vacuum to remove bugs/ webs from some of the nooks and crannies

Negative: the suicidal stairs and the beam mid way down in top room so if you weren’t careful you’d decapitate yourself!
