Welcome to this charming, completely renovated, lakefront cabin on Long Lake. Decorated with an eclectic cottage feel... including hand painted furniture, log master bed, knotty pine flooring throughout, new carpet, new bathrooms, and gas burning stove. The cabin sleeps up to 10, with 1-Queen sized bed (master), 1-Full sized bed, 2 bunk beds, separate bunkhouse with full sized futon bed, and a fun carpeted loft for kids in their sleeping bags.
Prime lakeshore on a clean and quiet lake makes Long Lake the perfect choice for your family vacation!
Long lake is located just an hour and a half north of the Twin Cities and just west of Mille Lacs Lake avoiding all the Brainerd traffic, allowing for a peaceful drive. This relaxing retreat offers 100 feet of private lakeshore with breathtaking lake views and immediate access to a wonderful recreational and fishing lake with a private dock and boat tie-up area. Long Lake has a public access only three doors down so, bring your own boat or use the paddle boat provided.
Long Lake is a quiet lake that is perfect for swimming, fishing, water sports and relaxation.
We are offering scrapbooking getaway weekends new this year also.
There is everything you need for your family getaway including a fire pit, gas BBQ, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc..., TV, DVD, and cable. For the kids, a sandy beach, paddle boat, and paddle board for hours of entertainment. 20' Pontoon boat available for extra charge. The cabin is located on the east side of the lake allowing long days for sun, fun, and amazing sunsets.
Hillman is a great family getaway with Paul Bunyan Land's Amusement Park and This Old Farm only 20 miles away. For the athletic family, Mille Lacs Kathio State Park is only minutes away offering 35 miles of wooded hiking trails in the summer months and cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails in the winter. We are also located 6 miles off the Soo Line Trails with hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, ATV and groomed snowmobile trails. For you gamblers and movie lovers, Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Theatre are only 15 minutes away. Whether you want to explore what the Mille Lacs and Brainerd Lakes area have to offer or just relax and listen to the call of the loons, there is something for everyone here on Long Lake.

Summary: This property was clean, comfortable and cozy. Cabin was updated beautifully and had everything we needed. My boys enjoyed fishing off the dock and the swim area. Owners provided instructions and was available if needed for questions. Definitely would stay again and will recommended to friends.

Summary: The lake view was outstanding! The beach was perfect with lots of toys. The cabin was clean and adorable. It was perfect for my daughter, grandson, and me. We only stayed two nights and three days and would love to go back and stay longer.

Summary: From start to finish this place was amazing! Gary was wonderful to communicate and work with and more then happy to help with any questions. Seems like a great guy! The cabin itself is adorable and actually had more to it then we expected which was delightful to find out. Beach area was perfect for our boys (7, 6 and 4). They enjoyed fishing from the paddle boat with their aunt and uncle and exploring with the kayaks. Lake was a bit smaller then we expected but honestly we just enjoyed seeing our boys have so much fun that it didn’t even matter. Would definitely recommend and return in the future. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin and relaxing beach with us!!

Summary: Great cabin just 2 hours from south metro. Gary has everything you will need and more for a comfortable time. Sandy bottom beach made for a great game of catch in the water among the boys. I came with 6 boys about to go off to college. Watching sunset on deck and floating on the lake was a couple of my favorites. 3 bathrooms and the bunkhouse rental was key for our group. Easy to communicate with owner - very accommodating . Easy morning walk to convenience store. Will definitely return.

Summary: My family stayed Gary's lake house for 10 days....and it was/is an "A+." The description and details of the place are spot on. Big pluses... **Gary is great. Easy to work with, communicate with, etc. **The sand and swimming area are awesome. Our two younger kids would not come inside, just wanting to swim and play on the sandy beach. Perfect. **Washer/Dryer are new and front loading. Great for a family who wants to do a load or two and/or just get swim suits clean. **Grill is newer and very nice. We grilled out 8/10 nights and even boiled water for pasta outside. **Space - while not "huge," the space is so well thought out. We had plenty of room for two kids to shower/ bath at the same time, watch their iPad's, and draw/color. And at the same time, the deck/sitting area is perfect to watch kids play in the water. **Water equipment/toys are awesome. We used the kayaks, standup paddle board, paddle boat and all of the beach toys. We could have used the boat as well, but didn't because of kids ages. My only note (and Gary was great about this)....if you are wanting to bring food/drink (or anything else), get it when coming out the northern suburbs of Minneapolis or through Brainerd or St. Cloud, or Duluth. We did all of shopping for 10 days just north of Minneapolis (which Gary told us to do) and it was a life savor. There is NOTHING near (25 miles) other than a cute small little country store (basic bread, etc.). But this was a HUGE PLUS for us because we wanted to get away. Thanks, Gary, for a TERRIFIC vacation!

Summary: It was perfect for our family. A big bonus was having new appliances. The beach was perfect for our grandkids (7 and 6). We used the very nice pontoon for cruising the lake, jumping off, and fishing. We caught enough fish (sunfish and crappies) to have a fish fry. The host was awesome. We pulled the kids/adults on the “Bubba” behind our Jet Ski ( Sea Doo). We had such an awesome time.
