Positive: I very much liked the place. Also it’s very nice that the host is very helpful with picking up and dropping of a the bus station. Accommodation was very comfortable and clean and close to the most important trails

Positive: Good: Rooms are clean and big. The owner is friendly and helpful, and can help you organise your Alishan visit. Aircon works and has a good heating function. Fireflies nearby!

Negative: Not so good: Rooms are very basic, no fridge, no lamp beside the bed, kettle with no tea or coffee, no hangars to hang clothes on, no TV. Breakfast one day was a very small basic buffet, the next day was a vegetable pancake - so don't expect a big choice. No shops / eating places locally so you need your own transport if you want to eat out. Very expensive for this type of accommodation.

Positive: Really nice location in the middle of tea fields, close to a nice café (200 m). The host picked us up at the bus stop (make sure you arrive during check-in hours! She is a one-woman business and takes care of the rooms before), and also dropped us there the next morning to get on the bus to Alishan. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The sound of birds is spectacular. Buffet-style dinner is served at 6 for 350 and is among the meals I enjoyed most so far in Taiwan - some grilled meat, very good tofu, rice, soup and 3-5 different vegetable dishes and stir-frys. I felt nourished and very well taken care of. Thank you!

Negative: If other guests are noisy light-sleepers might benefit from earplugs - the wooden walls are not soundproof.

Positive: Host is super friendly amd helpful. She offered to pick us up at the bus stop in town when we arrived and also helped us to book transportation to Alishan Forest Park in the wee hours of the morning to catch the sunrise train. We enjoyed the BBQ dinner that was available. Room was rustic and the view from the back window made you feel like you were sleeping within trees. There was an awesome coffee place just a few mins away and lots of trails nearby. We truly enjoyed our stay despite us choosing this as an alternative when our initial hotel was affected by fire.

Negative: Need more ventilation in the bathroom as ot hardly dried up.

Positive: It’s an authentic place embedded with the tribal culture. The place is in the middle of the jungle where you get to hear birds, bugs and all kinds of nature creatures sing! What a privilege!

Positive: The room is located in a nice garden with good views, but you need car to move to nearest restaurants in Shizhao ( 3 km).

Negative: The water in the shower is very difficult to regulate , other is too hot or too cold. Breakfast is very limited.
