Just kick off your shoes, relax, unwind… and enjoy! Lavender Cottage is in the heart of Iburndale, a small hamlet on the edge of Sleights. The picturesque village is five mins walk away and has a pub, general store, butchers with delicatessen, bakers, tea shop, fish and chip shop. Just next door is the village of Ruswarp with rowing boats on the River Esk and tempting tea shops. A few minutes away is Whitby, recently voted "Best Day Out" in tourism awards, with a full range of shops, restaurants, galleries, services and entertainments.

Summary: This wonderful cottage exceeded all of our expectations. You can easily tell that the owners love their house and enjoy sharing it with others. From the moment we set foot in Lavender Cottage we felt immediately at home. Waiting for us was a note accompanied by milk, bread, wine, shortbread , chocolates and more. The cottage was warm, cozy and blessed with helpful neighbors and an incredible custodian who lives just accross the lane. My wife had never visited Whitby. After a few days at the cottage she never wanted to leave. Thank you so much Helen for your hospitality, care and attention to detail.

Summary: Lavender Cottage is an absolute gem!! So cosy, gorgeous decor and lovely little touches, including a super hamper of goodies. The log burner was very welcome as weather wasn't great, but that didn't matter as we cosied up inside with a roaring fire, scrumptious food and drink and good books...just perfect!! A very relaxing break and we shall definitely be back! Thank you Helen and also to Kelly for your warm welcome.

Summary: Beautiful cottage which is spotlessly clean. Location is lovely and quiet,but with easy access to lots of places on the coast: Whitby, Sandsend etc.

Summary: Beautiful little cottage in a peaceful pretty village. Excellent goodies awaited us at cottage - unexpected but very gratefully received. Great location to travel to lots of lovely places including Whitby, Staithes. Highly recommend this cottage.

Summary: We stayed for a 3 might break. From Arriving and opening the door, the amazing lavender cottage did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded our expectations in many ways from the look and feel, the facilities available and the hospitality provided. The cottage was really clean and it was clear a lot of work has gone in to making the property safe given the current pandemic and the measures taken were clearly outlined. We felt really safe. The communication was great and the property owner went over and above to help provide information to make our stay the best possible. We will definitely be returning to Lavendar cottage. Thank you for everything.
