Positive: The beds were clean, and the communal areas were nice.
Negative: There was no WiFi Hosts wouldn’t honour Booking.com price, and instead requested more, citing that they didn’t understand price that had been agreed I went out in the evening and when I returned my room door was wide open

Positive: 1. It is close to the glacier hike trail, you just need to walk a bit, you will have nice view of the glacier; 2. The room is clean and quiet, quite cozy; 3. Hot water shower is nice; 4. The host family is quite friendly;
Negative: 1. Power cut till 6pm, problem with the power supply agent I think, not totally host fault; 2. No WiFi, but the host will turn on hotspot for you with their phone; 3. The dinner is at the average 30lari, totally vegetarian, except the soup, all come cold, much worse than all the meals I had in other guest houses during the hike, not worthy I think, but they provided at specified time as requested;
Summary: Comfortable stay, but not recommend the dinner

Positive: Great owner and his wife. Stay here more than expect due to the weather conditions in the end of October. Tasty and delicious breakfast and dinner. Owner speak Russian and Georgian, his wife a little English, but it’s no problem to communicate. I know Russian. Location is perfect, not village center. There are 2 cafe/shops nearby but assortment is small so take everything you need from Mestia. The road from Mestia to Ushguli is now super fine and it takes 1 hr 20 min to drive. There is only one rock-falling area about 600 meters.
Negative: The problem of Ushguli is weak electricity power. So local people cook using wood-burning stove. Information actual for October 2025. So you can wait kettle to boil water for 20-40 minutes instead of 5-8. And the heater in the room not so effective but anyway it warmer with it. So it’s not problem of the guest house and hopefully next years Ushguli will have good electricity.

Positive: The location is east to reach as it is outside the village of Usghuli but at a walking distance. It is a dependance of the house of the family, which is very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our car and they helped us figure out what it was so we are very thankful. The breakfast, as other guests said, is amazing - practically a dinner - and the lady that hosted us suggested we take away what we could not finish. Super recommended
Negative: The shared bathroom - which is clean - could have better lighting and look more comfortable, and then this place would deserve a 9 🙂
Summary: Probably the best breakfast you will have in Georgia

Positive: The room was comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom was really big! We had breakfast and dinner and both meals were plentiful and delicious. The host was very friendly.
Negative: The location is a bit outside of the centre. On the positive side, it was quiet.

Positive: The guestrooms were in seperat building. In the same building, there was a very nice common area with sofas, tables and chairs. The breakfast was so delicious with a lot different things such as small pancakes, fried slices of potato, omelette, vegetable, yoghurt and cheese. It was located a bit away from the villages, but that just made it more quiet and nice to sit outside.
Negative: The room and bathroom were quite cold. There was a small heater for the room, but it was not very efficient. There was hot water, but it was very difficult to get the right temperature.

Positive: The room was exactly like on the photos, no more and no less, which is how it should be, but often isn't. It was very good value for money (53 GEL for two nights). A heater in the common room at least partly made up for the cold weather already in September. The bed under a good duvet was nice and warm, and the shower was hot, which is rather essential in Ushguli.
Negative: Wi-fi was through the host's smartphone, which technically worked fine, but in practice it meant that you "compete" with the host for using her phone. I had it two nights out of three (didn't need it during the day), so it was alright, but when it says there is wi-fi, I expect it to be available continuously. Meals were not 20 GEL as stated on booking.com, but 25 GEL, so this wrong information must be corrected. Also the written information that all rooms have a desk is incorrect. The otherwise big and nice common bathroom is for some reason extremely dimly lit. Don't go for shave there!
