Positive: Clean room with a private bathroom, which seemed like luxury after previous guesthouses on the Mestia-Ushguli hike. Shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. But note that only hand wash is provided, no other toiletries. Cafe was atmospheric, with a traditional oven and it was interesting to watch the hostess making fresh bread there. We liked the potato and cheese bread. The hostess was welcoming.

Negative: Uncomfortable beds. Shower isn't separated so all bathroom floor gets wet. Cafe opens at 9 am and breakfast took very long, not convenient if you plan to start a hike early in the morning. Note that there is no wifi.

Positive: Friendly people. Warm, comfortable room and beds. Good attached restaurant with very nice food.

Negative: Rooms have a Swedish sauna vibe but perfectly ok. Soundproofing limited - our neighbours chose to have a long conversation/facetime at around 3 in the morning which woke us up and kept us awake. Not the fault of the guest house but inconsiderate of other guests

Positive: Basic but comfortable with a view from the shared balcony. Owner and their family who run the cafe next door were very friendly. Food at the cafe was authentic. The owner was available for transfers.

Negative: The towels were a little small and best to bring your own toiletries (toilet paper is provided).

Summary: A genuinely hospitable stay in a beautiful area.

Positive: Fantastic view from the little porch outside the room, everything was clean and comfortable. The owner organised a transfer back to Mestia for us and we ate at the cafe - the food was excellent.

Positive: View of the river and the mountain from our room, nice caffe place attached, central but quiet

Negative: No wifi, worn out, tattered bed linens and towel, in my room i woke up early because there are no curtains. Unsure about other rooms.

Positive: Location is super great, in the center of Ushguli. But I think every guest house in Ushguli has a great location:) We had everything we needed. At night it is cold outside in September, so we used provided heater. Hot water, bathroom, everything was there. We bought the dinner. The atmosphere in the dining area is very cool. Many hikers gather and chill there chatting by the fireplace. Food was delicious. Especially I enjoyed khachapuri there.
