Hacienda Artist Paradise @ Bishops Lodge is a three-bedroom, three-bath home in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Range of the Rocky Mountains. This property sits just outside the city center (plaza area) of downtown Santa Fe. The name, Hacienda Artist Paradise, comes from the original art on display. It is approximately 3 miles outside the city limits – just enough to give that peaceful feeling of being up in the mountains with a view, but within minutes of the Plaza. It takes two minutes to walk from the front entrance of the home to the Club House pool area where one gets the feeling of an infinity pool overlooking the mountains. To experience a sunset overlooking the mountains while in the pool area is really something to experience. Ensconced in a gated community just minutes from the Opera House, this is one of the villas that is part of the “Bishops Lodge” community with beautiful landscaping maintained by the Hills and Villas Association. Bishops Lodge, the iconic 1920’s ranch resort and spa, is in the midst of a multi-million dollar renovation and will NOW re-open in 2020. However, the horse stables are opening June 2020. The horse stables and trails are now open to the public. The Pool is Open Memorial Day to Labor Day only.
This property offers high ceilings with wood log beams, porcelain tile floors, and carpet in the bedrooms. The large, fully stocked kitchen with granite counters, all stainless appliances, all the cookware, dishes, etc. that one will need for that gourmet cook. Plus new counter-top appliances of every kind that include a regular coffee pot, Keurig, and a Nespresso machine stocked with coffee for each coffee maker, as well as a variety of teas. The dining room accommodates 8 and four counter stools for the counter facing the kitchen. The three bedrooms are beautifully furnished throughout. Two bedrooms have king-size beds, and the third bedroom has “two” queen-size beds. Every bedroom has an ensuite bathroom that includes a shower and tub with the Master offering a Jacuzzi and walk-in shower. Each bedroom comes fully stocked with new linens for the bath, hangers in the closets, luggage racks, extra pillows, a private outside patio, and a television. The large living room has four upholstered chairs and a sofa, with a 40” TV. Just outside the living room is a large patio that is fully furnished with an outdoor dining table for 8, a new Weber grill, a chaise lounge, and a pizza oven, plus the most incredible VIEWS! The linen window coverings throughout the home are custom. The home is equipped with a security system, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth music system, and a land-line telephone for local and emergency long-distance calls. The full-size washer and dryer is right off the kitchen and as quiet as silence! This home is very well-maintained, professionally cleaned and in like-new condition. Approximately 2100 square feet.

We watched the sun come up every morning and the beautiful stars at night. The decorating is elegant yet comfortable. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Every bed was comfortable and inviting. Very clean and very well stocked with linens and kitchen appliances. Location is just close enough to the Santa Fe Plaza and far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. We had a great time here and highly recommend this place! We’ll definitely be returning.

Summary: Our group of 7 was very comfortable in this amazing villa! Modern kitchen, bathrooms, & entertainment space. Beautiful views of the hills & landscape. Rent a car, otherwise there is Uber but the rates are high at night & for pre-scheduled rides. Not far from town, easy drive to Bishops Lodge Auberge Resort, 15 min. to Ten Thousand Waves Spa. Our only issue was we were told there were tennis courts, but the Property Mgmt didn't know where they were at the time of our booking in March nor followed up to find out for us. We brought our racquets but couldn't find the courts upon arrival -the villa complex spans across many acres/hilly streets. The pool looked nice, but in August it was rainy for our trip. Would love to stay here again, or try someplace closer to The Plaza/downtown.

The home is well-maintained and managed, close to Bishop's Lodge, a bit north of the city. We loved the layout of the house -- it has three nice bedrooms, each having a private bath. The home accommodates six adults very nicely. It was also easy to get into town for wonderful dinners or shopping, as well as to local golf courses. We look forward to returning to this property. The manager was excellent.

House was so beautiful with amazing art, comfortable spaces to hang out, great beds and bathrooms, and a nicely stocked kitchen. WE didn't cook any big meals other than breakfast and snacks, but it was a really nice kitchen. Area is beautiful with amazing views, a great pool area (go at sunset!), and even awesome hiking nearby. A 10 minute drive from downtown but easy and worth it for the quiet and the views!

Beds are super comfortable, and we loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Kitchen, grill and pizza oven worked beautifully. The rental is maybe 100 yards from the salt-water pool in the clubhouse, which has an amazing view of the sunset. The rental was spotless, and we loved hanging out in the comfy family room and on the patio. Highly recommended.
