Positive: We liked the old world quirky charm of the place. It was in a good location for us as it was 30 minute walks to where our tours started from, less than 20 from the Augulfinec Brau which can highly recommended by all the tour operators we encountered. The Taxi stand was just at the end of the street along with the free bus services offered in Salzburg now. Was particular impressed with the service when booking in that we were upgraded to a larger room when the staff saw the our luggage. They did their best to make our stay enjoyable.

Negative: The floor boards were very squeaky which made it awkward as we were not sure if those below were being disturbed. However, there is a small window into the floor that shows the way the building was made that was cute. Lack of coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

Positive: The location and the history of the hotel were highlights. We could walk everywhere. And the location is so quiet. Beds were comfortable. And the kettle in the room was a bonus!

Negative: Heater in the bathroom didn’t work.

Summary: We had a wonderful time in Salzburg and would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes history and likes to walk.

Positive: A very pleasant traditional guest house, with friendly staff and quirky lay-out and facilities that I found charming. Those who like plastic, uniformity and all mod cons might disagree! The breakfast was decent and good value, as was the whole stay.

Negative: It took a while to check in because I do not have an i-phone and don't do QR Codes, thus requiring the staff to work out how to produce an old-fashioned paper form!

Summary: Charming, traditional establishment that offered good value and a friendly atmosphere.
