Summary: Everything about our stay was perfect. The position of the house with it's amazing views, the quality of the furnishings and the communications from the hosts, including meeting us and showing us around in person. The location is so peaceful, but only a short drive or taxi into La Herradura itself, so you really do have the best of both worlds. The communal pool is only a two minute walk away and is a very good size, in well kept grounds and once again, with stunning views. We loved our time here and will definitely be back!

Summary: The view is incomparably beautiful. Enjoy the morning when the sun rises and the evening at sunset. This home and house is a home away from home with beautiful furniture throughout and a stunning patio directly adjacent to the spacious kitchen with lots of plants and comfortable seating. Plus balconies higher up. It is easy to get up in the mountains to Granada and the Alhambra and you can reach Nerja easily both via the coastal road and the highway. The hosts are genuinely very nice people.

Summary: We have been renting houses for the past 20 years and I have to say that this has to be one of the best experiences we had. We were impressed how nice Emilio and Rosa were. From the first email exchange to welcoming us in person, to the little attentions that do make all the difference (providing toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, body lotion, plenty of towels), you feel like you are enjoying a friend's house, not just a rental. What else can we add? Kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfy, the whole apartment is comfy, although you just want to be on the terrace all the time! Like everybody else, we just couldn’t get enough of the view, the terrace is absolutely wonderful!!! The weather was splendid (we were there from June 16th to 23rd), between 21-28 degrees. There are many walking/hiking trails that leave from La Herradura, from easy to difficult. Finally, Emilio will provide all the information you need on where to eat, drink and shop, you are in good hands in a very nice spot. All that made it very hard to leave!

Summary: This villa really was a home from home with beautiful furnishings throughout and a fantastic patio with lots of plants and comfortable seating. In fact being so cosy it was hard to find the motivation to go out anywhere but there is plenty to do in the area and La Herradura is not over commercialised. We visited Granada ( 1 hour by car) which is lovely and the road up in to the Sierra Nevada is a stunning drive with lots of very impressive bridges. Malaga is a beautiful city outside of the airport and we loved it.We walked the Los Cahorros Gorge...simply stunning and very exciting and kayaked round the coast with a guided group ( from Maro beach not Nerja which is much less touristy). We also enjoyed the shared pool every evening ...when we had it to ourselves! The host Emilio will give you lots of helpful advice about the area and good places to eat ...we especially liked the "Dorada plato " restaurant at the end of the beach in Almunecar where they BBQ fish outside in an old boat...the best fish ever and a lovely clean restaurant. Overall a really relaxing and inexpensive holiday...thoroughly recommended.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in La Herradura. The house is fully equipped and the layout was very practical. The view from the terraces and living room is unbelievable. We spent hours just starring at the changing colours along the day. Emilio and Rosa are the perfect hosts with abundant information shared before and during the stay. Thank you for this experience

Summary: It is difficult to describe the stunning view from the terrace, the photos on the website do not do it justice. The seating area outside is like a second living room, with a dining table outside as well. For a family of four the property was plenty big enough, with a bathroom upstairs and a second toilet downstairs. The community pool is close by and well maintained. Although the neighbouring properties were close by, people were respectful and did not play music or make noise past midnight. A car was needed to drive down into La Herradura, which took around 5 mins. During August the parking was very competitive in La Herradura itself, so you had to go early or pay for parking to get a place. The property was perfectly placed for car journeys to Granada, Nerja, Almuñécar, Motril and Malaga. Also if you are prepared to drive a bit further, Seville and Gibraltar are also accessible, both destinations we visited and loved. Being British and loving a cup of tea, the only thing I couldn’t find in the kitchen was a kettle........a minor inconvenience on what was otherwise a perfect holiday :-)

Summary: La Herradura is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for a place that is both quiet but also has a pulse, nice beach and great restaurants. Emilio and Rosas house is located on top of a mountain (you need a car) overlooking the bay with amazing views from the large terrace. The terrace is also were we spent most of the time having dinner or relaxing. It’s like a dining room outside. The rest of the house was perfect for our family with two airconditioned bedrooms and a large bathroom on the top floor and a fully equipped kitchen (we love to cook and we didn’t miss anything), a salon, a toilet and the terrace on the bottom floor. There is also a nice pool area with tennis courts and the same amazing views. In summary, a marvelous house in a lovely little town. The best part though is Emilio and Rosa who made us feel like home and as if we’ve known each other for years. They made an effort to make sure that our vacation was perfect. We will definitely come back to la Herradura and when we do, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Basically the best place we’ve rented ever.

Summary: Beautiful apartment/duplex, with amazing views. Very kind owners ,they give you a warm welcome. The balcony is a livingroom outside. You don't need the livingroom inside. Inventory is very complete. Good kitchen. The apartment is situated on a hill. A car is very useful. For us it was to far to walk to the village. The swimmingpool is very close to the house. Very peaceful setting. We would like to go again.

Summary: We had a great time in that appartment because : - the appartment is better than it looks like on the photos, everything is new and you have everything in the kitchen (this is not usual in spain). It is also very clean. - the view from the appartment is fantastic, - it is very quiet, the view from the swimming pool is also fantastic and the swimming is not crowded, - the owner is so nice and he gives you more information than you expect to ! You have two floors (one with the bedrooms and the bathroom)(the other with kitchen and living room) both comunicated by a nice stairs. The appartment is at the top of a hill so you have 10 minutes drive to reach the beach but the area is so pleasant that it is a really pleasant drive. You can always park on the beach because "la Herradura" is not crowded. To conclude, everything was perfect.

Summary: ...nothing!!! We had everything we needed: good beds, loose towels, comfortable couches, fully equipped kitchen, stunning views, refreshing pool, good-lights-to-read-in-the-evening (quite rare) and last but not least: great hosts! We would give it a chance, if we were you!
