Negative: I'm afraid my review of the house isn't that great - I did message on our arrival to ask if we could shorten our stay. Here are a few things that weren't great. Stains on the cream carpet in dining and living room, also the cream sofa was stained and had a musty smell, these definitely needed a deep clean A cobweb in the living room with a lot of trapped spiders Dated kitchen crockery etc. - not a deal breaker, but at $700 a night I think the expectation is that everything should be of a higher quality (felt like I was in my Grandma's kitchen!) Food products which were over 10 years out of date! The water ran brown in the master bath room, which put us off using The shower cubicle in the master bedroom was missing a glass door, so chilly, therefore quick showers 🙁 The extractor fan in the bathroom from the master bedroom wasn't working. The layout of the space wasn't very useable, the two most beautiful rooms had white carpet, and as we were a family of five with 3 children, I was nervous to allow them to have drinks in those rooms. As a family, we were looking for homes with beautiful views for us to have evening meals together, play some games and then watch a movie. Sadly we spent most of the evening in the brown and dated kitchen diner/den part of the house and even this wasn't great as there were only 4 lazy boy chairs and we're a family of five - also wasn't expecting to be spending my evening in a lazy boy chair!!!!! I don't want to be too critical, as objectively it is a beautiful house, but I think it was all 'show' and not that useable. Again, if the price point was lower, we would have rolled with it but at $700 a night I was expecting something a bit more special and to have been able to use the two rooms with views as opposed to spending our time in the brown room.

Summary: very poor value for money

Positive: Spacious house with beautiful sunset views, conveniently located within a 20 minute walk of downtown Carmel. Management was very prompt and accommodating to our needs. The adults and kids were all happy and entertained!

Negative: Main entrance door needs work. Steps from garage to house are dangerously loose. Stains in carpet and scuffs on walls and furniture, while understandable, don’t show well against the cost of the rental.

Positive: The location of this rental was ideal – a perfect balance of stunning views and easy access to both Carmel and Monterey. It was only a short drive to everything we wanted to do, from exploring the towns to hiking in the surrounding areas. We really appreciated the seamless check-in process and the overall cleanliness and comfort of the home

Negative: We arrived at night and the outside lighting was not very bright for the stairs and walkway. overall no other complaints.

Summary: We would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area
