Negative: The room is not as big as we expected. Not soundproof and we can hear dog barking the whole night, didn't have good sleep.

Positive: Villa is very beautiful and comfortable, the views are great, and our host - Laksitha is such a cool guy. The building is new and fully equipped. If you like, it's possible to arrange tours in the very competitive prices to other agencies or apps, with the neighbour of the house. You can also play with cute and friendly dog living there. Totally recommended!

Positive: Absolutely fantastic views, with a cool breeze and spacious accommodation. I wanted to just chill and it was the perfect place for a little downtime, my friend wanted to see more of the sights and so Mr Laksitha arranged for a neighbour (Mr Sanju) to take her on some tours. It is about a 15 minute tuktuk ride from the centre of Kandy which was perfect as we wanted a quieter location and whether just enjoying the property or visiting the sites, gave us everything we wanted. We were able to cook a simple meal for ourselves and Mr Laksitha prepared a delicious breakfast and brought us fresh coconut juice. It is up a very steep hill, which we did walk once for the exercise, but this is a small price for the views ad Mr Laksitha was happy to transfer our baggage up and down to our taxis.

Positive: We had a truly lovely stay at Hilltop Heaven in Kandy, and it lived up to its name in every way. While we initially had a bit of difficulty locating the property, our host went above and beyond—meeting us in the evening and personally driving us up to the accommodation. This level of hospitality set the tone for the rest of our stay. The property is located at the top of a fairly steep hill, which rewards you with spectacular views across the surrounding area. It’s a peaceful and serene spot—perfect for relaxing—but worth noting that the incline could be a challenge for some travellers, especially those with mobility issues. Tuk Tuks are readily available or can be ordered easily through the PickMe app. Inside, the accommodation is beautifully maintained and well-equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay, including a washing machine, which was a very welcome bonus during our trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is calm and homely. Each morning we were treated to a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast, served at a time that suited us. The open-plan dining area allowed us to enjoy the surrounding nature while we ate—watching monkeys, birds, and other local wildlife go about their morning routines. The monkeys, in particular, were endlessly entertaining and surprisingly clever in their attempts to “borrow” food and drinks from nearby properties! There’s also a small local shop at the bottom of the hill if you need any essentials, though you may want to take a Tuk Tuk back up unless you're up for a bit of a climb. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay, whether you're a couple or travelling with family. The property offers easy access to central Kandy and its attractions, but still provides a tranquil retreat from the bustle of the city. We would happily stay here again if we return to the area. A big thank you to our host for making us feel so welcome and well looked after!
