B&B Casa Formica - Holiday house 'Formichino'
Casa Formichino is a pretty outbuilding of about 40 sq m. built in a small and quiet Bed & Breakfast. Located inside a 19th-century farmhouse, it is located just 7km from the historic center of Pisa and only 21km from Lucca. Casa Formichino is located in a quiet and peaceful place. The perfect destination for those in search of relaxation and at the same time of convenience at hand.
The best solution to visit the main art cities of Tuscany, and at the same time enjoy a beach holiday by easily reaching the nearby towns of Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia, and with a few more minutes the famous Versilia.

Casa Formichino is built with beamed ceilings and bricks as required by the tradition of the typical Tuscan rustic. A built-in kitchen with large marble countertop, dining area and double sofa bed. In the adjacent room we find: double bed, walk-in closet, bathroom with window and large shower. Outside equipped garden area and a private parking space.
Casa Formichino is also surrounded by a 2500sqm garden. equipped with tables, chairs and umbrellas. On sunny days you can have breakfast outdoors. You can also rest after a busy day or read a book under a large mulberry tree.
For our guests there is an area with a football table, for the little ones a play area with swing and slide.

Summary: Peaceful home and great location for visiting Pisa and Lucca. A car is necessary and can be rented at the Pisa airport. The home is comfortable, safe, private, and easy parking. Amenities were useful and good and overall home was fantastic quality. The host is very kind, helpful, and available when needed and provided a delicious and fresh breakfast that you pay for additionally but is well worth it. The host helped us get dinner in town even though it was near midnight and that restaurant was great with big portions. Beware of mosquitoes but that’s part of the Italian experience so bring cream. Had a wonderful stay!

Summary: The apartment is very nice and cosy. Everything is made with a lot of taste and still very useful. The Italian shower is amazing ! You can hang out with your children in the wide and green garden. It is easy to access, close to Pisa and yet very calm. My wife chose to taste their breakfast and it was a wonderful idea, it is so delicious and it was very pleasant to have it in the dinning room with the large windows. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Summary: My husband and I stayed in Apartment Mary for a week (Sept 24 - Oct 2nd) and we would have stayed longer if we could have. Iacopo, Christina, and Mario were a joy to meet and we had a wonderful time with them, especially our evening chats over wine. The location just outside of Pisa was perfect, giving us easy access to the surrounding areas on our day trips. Upon arriving, after an overnight flight, we were quickly shown around, offered drinks, and given directions to several places for food and dinner. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast even though we did not do the B&B option. Iacopo said it was their welcome to us. The apartment was perfect, allowing us to feel right at home. We cooked in most evenings and Mario moved the BBQ so it was right outside our door. If you are there at the right time you can enjoy many options from the fruit trees that are on the property as well as wonderful herbs that are likely available year-round. We will have fond memories of this place, and even more-so the family, for a lifetime.

The appartement we occupied was brand new, comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen was well-equipped and besides we enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace which was surrounded by its wonderful garden. The house is located within 10 minutes away from Pisa (by car), and any shop center, pharmacy and so on. Within 3 minutes walking from the house there is a path for bikes or joggers... which is amazing. There is many interesting places and things to do, both for adults and children (beach, city, nature....) Last but not least, the host family was more than kind. They were always ready to help us with all kind of information or make our stay even better. Casa Formica achieved all our expectations!

Summary: We spent 2 days, 2 nights in the room Iacopo of this B&b and it was just the perfect situation in a quiet place (outskirt Pisa) without being fare from Pisa, Lucca and the beaches. Great breakfast, big room and bathroom as well, we were like king and Queen!! . The hosts are just wonderful, very helpful people. Definitively we recommend this B&B and certainly will be back there.
