Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay, and I must say the staff is very friendly and helpful. For instance, I asked at the desk for ice and the lady went out of her way to find a bag for me free of charge. Only minor exceptions. They give you a gift card at check in that reads for 'One free cocktail' but the lady that runs the bar refused it and told my wife that is for 'the juice that goes in the cocktail, not for the cocktail'. The next day I asked the bar lady for a bottle of water so I could make ice. (The desalinated tap water is ok to drink but not the best). She gave me the more expensive brand bottle and charged me $10. The bar is owned by her, not the hotel. She was an unpleasant person. But the other bartender employee and restaurant staff were very nice. It would be a much better experience if they would just get rid of that bar owner/manager. Great location. Orient Beach currently was full of Sargassum weed but a short drive to other beaches which had none. We found renting a car was best and the cost is less than the taxi ride from SXM so it pays for itself in that sense and you can explore every place..

Summary: The hotel was wonderful! The pool area and restaurant had a great vibe and the food was great! The beach is literally a 5 minute walk and Orient Bay Beach was perfection. Waves, but not too rough. Beautiful turquoise water. The beach service was great as well! La Plantation has an arrangement with a beach club, so chairs and umbrellas were included with the hotel stay. The staff were all so friendly. Our room, a master suite with a sea view, was spectacular. Large room, large bathroom. We loved it. Will definitely be back! Renting a car is definitely a plus and I hightly recommend doing so. It's a quick 10-15 minute drive to a local supermarket, and to Grand Case which has great restaurants and shops.

Summary: Recent stay- March 2024. Resort has many duplex units in plantation style. Very nice accommodation with ample room, stocked kitchenette with basic dining needs. All have private veranda and grounds are very nice. A 10 minute walk to "The Villages (shopping/restaurants) and expansive beautiful beaches. La plantation has a small bar and outside dining area overlooking pool. Breakfast buffet in mornings - reservations for dinner if you choose to dine -amazing food prepared by one of the best.
