Positive: Great location for ski in ski out, very bare bones, no frills.
Negative: The place had a little bit of a smell to it, and had a haunted vibe probably because there were so few guests and it was such a big property. The onsen bathroom had a little bit of a smell of mold. The bar was also closed, and it was early March, so I didn't think the season was over yet?
Summary: Feels like an old school 80s ski resort!

Positive: Decent sized traditional Japanese tatami room, decent size onsen bath for a relatively small property. Quiet & well located - short walk to the Ichinose bus stop & the Ichinose ski area. There is a small Yamazaki convenience store nearby, & being in Ichinose means you have plenty of dining options nearby (but will need to book). Daily Japanese mixed western breakfast set was good & filling, while the staff was flexible with requests. Locker room to dry your ski / snowboard gears.
Negative: The lockers could perhaps come with a ‘lock’. Perhaps pillow options would be good, as there is only the hard pillows filled with ‘beads’.

Positive: The location was phenomenal, very close to the ski fields and can access all areas of the mountain. The breakfast and dinner was very traditional which was a strong point of difference. For those who want an authentic Japanese experience, I would suggest the inclusion of the half board package. The room was clean and warm which were the essentials after long days of skiing. The tatami bed was a little different to the western beds but an experience nonetheless. I would stay here again and i highly recommend this location.

Positive: The location was great, there was plenty of snow so the skiing was great. The staff were very friendly. The 'Black Cat' service offered at the hotel efficiently and economically transported all our ski gear to our last hotel for the trip home while we did some touring around Japan. We did enjoy our stay.
Negative: We did not realise when we booked that we would be sleeping on the floor. It may have been possible to book a room with western beds, but we were not aware of this so it was a bit of a shock. We also expected showers in the room but not so. We were on the third floor and the onsen was on the ground floor, requiring a trip down each morning and evening for showers etc. There was no chair in the room so putting on ski gear on the floor was a struggle. All of this was our fault for not requesting the appropriate room type. All of the above said, we did have a great time.
Summary: Great location, just check your room type (beds) matches your expectations.

Positive: Ideally located Good value for price Nice combo : breakfast/dinner + onsen on premises The hotel has a nice bar and it was great to finish the ski day with a beer... we were however alone :-) Really recommend to book breakfast and dinner as there are not many restaurant around and they ae usually fully booked.

Positive: Great location close to ski lifts Very friendly and helpful staff Nice lounge/bar area Loved the onsen
Negative: The traditional Japanese breakfasts and dinners didn’t agree with (the stomachs) of all of our group (of Australians), but some of the group loved the Japanese food. There were no western food options available.
