Positive: Lovely place, really friendly family run place, located in the main area of Lanquin and they called taxis for you to get to Semuc Champey which made it very easy and was very cheap to get to Semuc Champey too. Refillable drinking water too which was nice and even though it was very hot in Lanquin the room had enough air flow with the fan it was not too hot to sleep.

Positive: Nice hotel Beds were average in terms of comfort. Pillows were good. Showers and toilets were clean and hot. Staff were lovely Alot cheaper to book excursion to semuc champey through the hotel than anywhere else or online

Negative: Abit noisy as close to main road Super hot, the fan was but not powerful

Positive: The location (very close to the market), the building itself is gorgeous with wide views to the mountains. Breakfast was excellent. The front of house staff was helpful.

Negative: The staff recommended us a transfer to Semuc Champey in the back of a van for Q25 each, it was a very bumpy and hot journey standing for 30-40 min with 10 other people. On the return journey we got a far more comfortable tuk tuk just for the 2 of us for the same price. Laundry service is available through the staff but very expensive, which was not made clear when we handed in our clothes. We paid Q75 for a small bag (prob no more than 2kg, if that). For South America, that’s unexpectedly expensive.

Positive: Great location in the city center. Very kind and helpful owner. Simple but clean room, shower with hot water, and drinking water available in the common room for spending free time. Highly recommended to everyone.

Positive: The hosts were fantatastic and very helpful! The bed was quite comfortable and the hot water was really nice. The breakfast with a view was nice

Negative: The biggest problem was the noise. The walls are very thin and the doors are open at the bottom and the hotel is next to a very busy street and the worst part is the neighbors have very loud chickens. At least the host provided us with ear plugs but the noise was severe.

Positive: We enjoyed our stay here. Werner was very approachable and helpful. The room was baisc, but had all we needed. We even had a tiny private balcony overlooking the main road. The terrace areas are great to hang out.

Negative: It was a little loud from the main road, but they gave us earplugs when we arrived.

Positive: Hotel Rabin Itzam is more than just a hotel… it’s a magical place that you quickly begin to treat like your own home. Perfectly located in the heart of town, it offers easy access to restaurants, cafés, shops, and all local activities. The property features well-equipped rooms, designed in a simple yet elegant style, ensuring comfort and a restful stay. There is also a beautiful garden where you can relax after a full day of exploring. The hotel staff is simply incredible. From the very beginning of my stay, they took care of me and made sure I felt comfortable. These are people with big hearts who will help you in any situation. I wholeheartedly recommend this place – I will definitely be back.
