Summary: This rental is by far my favorite of all time for my family. This place was design for families in mind! It was a real cozy home away from home for all ages 6-34. The Kitchen has 2 stoves and is huge! It has all the essentials you need to cook for a large family. The beds are all so comfy. The open concept for the living-room, dining and play areas are exceptional! Looking forward to booking this place again when we are in the area. I also appreciated that the shower and toilet had two separate doors, allowing the use of both as needed by family members. Loved the special details like a welcome basket of snacks, so many board games, Wii console, so many fluffy large towels, lots of warm blankets to choose from, plenty of paper towels and extra toiletries. The location also allows for a convenient private entrance and is 3-5 minute drive to a dollar store and gas station. Thank you for sharing your home with us and good job creating such a wonderful place to create memories for our blended family.

Summary: This rental was very special for our family! Our 93 year old father was born in Dallas Center and grew up in the old Presbyterian church (this property). Our family attended church here during our elementary years and came back for occasional visits throughout our life, so it was extra fun to utilize the old fellowship hall and kitchen and stay in bedrooms that used to be our Sunday School rooms! The rental was clean, offers a huge gathering place, is decorated with special extras, had great amenities, and had everything we needed for a perfect family gathering! The owners were very attentive and couldn’t have been more accommodating! Highly recommend; we will definitely try to book again!

Summary: This space was just perfect for a weekend with the girls! There were six adults and we had plenty of space to hang out playing games and watching movies (so many comfy spots on the couches!). The kitchen had plenty of space and everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Summary: This is the third time we have stayed at this property, and each time is better than the last. The owners clearly continue to invest in the property and the guest experience, as each time there have been updates and improvements. Our children LOVE this space...the spaciousness, the games, the family time, the playground across the street (and we love the cleanliness!). The location is great, and there are some surprisingly good restaurants in the surrounding small towns. This unique property is a must-stay if you are in the area, or even if you are just looking for a space to get away and relax.

Summary: Property is exactly as pictured in listing, plus there are board games, video games, a pack and play, and the kitchen is stocked well for what you will need. We loved the place so much that we could have spent our entire time just in the home! Any time I go to the Des Moines area, I will be staying here. I am already planning on booking it for future stays!!! The owner is quick to respond with any questions and they are incredibly helpful and kind. The common area is big and open so it allowed my 8 month old and teenagers to live in harmony as we all had lots of room to stretch out and roam around! I couldn't have asked for a better place with nicer people! We LOVED it!!!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay! Nice small town feel, and not too far from our conference in Des Moines! Everything was clean and nicely decorated with some fun games, made us feel right at home!

Summary: This was a great property and is as pictured in the listing! Our 8 and 11yo LOVED the space being so open! They loved the shuffle board table, the chess/checkers table, foos-ball table and all of the board games that were provided. The kitchen is stocked with basics and plenty of dishware. They have a small number of pantry items such as salt, pepper, a few spices, and cooking oil. A basket of "in case you forgot it" toiletries were provided along with a welcome basket of snacks! The home is located across the street from a park with a playground and just a few blocks from the main street (and the bike trail) which has a bakery, restaurant and ice cream shop! The hosts live upstairs in the main part of the converted church, we were able to hear footsteps of people moving around upstairs, but that would be expected given the age of the building. Great stay and would highly recommend!!

Summary: This was our second stay at this property, and the owners have continued to make the space even more welcoming. They are clearly invested in giving guests a positive experience. The space is clean, huge, and comfy. This is a fabulous option for families. Our kids are already asking when we are going to stay in “the church basement” again!
