Enjoy the creature comforts in this spacious guesthouse, located in a picturesque setting, minutes from Otsego Lake. This award-winning and newly restored Mid-Century Modern getaway offers all modern conveniences and a beautiful natural landscape to relax in or explore.
The guesthouse and adjacent residence, designed in 1965/1963 have recently been placed on the state and national historic registers and were featured inArchitectural Record Houses of 1967and House Beautiful, 1965. The private grounds offer woodlands, fields, a pond, hidden streams, and lush vistas of the countryside.
The Robert Woodruff Outdoor Learning Center, across the road, includes a 1.5 mile hiking trail, waterfalls, caves and a swimming spot. An outdoor swimming pool with lifeguard, is adjacent the Learning Center at the Owen D. Young School. It is open to the public during the summer.
We are approx. 15 minutes to the Glimmerglass State Park lakefront beach and The Glimmerglass Festival, and a short drive to Cooperstown along the scenic lake road.

Summary: This home was perfect for our stay while my son was playing baseball at Doubleday field. Less than a half hour scenic drive. Perfect for our stay!

Summary: We were beyond happy with this place. We were in town for the baseball Hall of Fame induction weekend and this property was perfectly located away from all the crowds in Cooperstown yet close enough to be convenient. The setting is remote and stunning. The property owners were very kind and helpful. The house itself is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: Our stay was wonderful! Description of the property was spot on and the hosts were wonderful and went above and beyond to welcome us to their lively guesthouse! Although the property was a little further out than we originally wanted to be from Cooperstown it was worth the short drive! The property was very clean and we enjoyed a hike across the street to a beautiful waterfall and cave! We will definitely return if we are back in the area in the future!

Summary: We just stayed a week here. Property is amazing! The house is beautiful and the aesthetics were beyond expectations. It is about a 30 minute drive to the dreams park. The ride is beautiful with no traffic. The size,outdoor living, and nearby waterfalls were absolutely worth it. The house has everything you need including a washer and dryer. We cooked several nights at the house and enjoyed the outdoor firepit. This house will not dissapoint! Do not miss out hiking the trail and seeing the falls and caves. Simply beautiful!

Summary: Doreen and Max's place in the beautiful hills of upstate New York is unique in it's architecture and wonderfully serene set amidst the changing seasons, all beautiful in this tranquil place. The guest house itself is nicely appointed with mid-century modern style furniture and there's plenty of room in this perfectly symmetrically balanced space. Set in secluded woods is the perfect place for some peace and reading a good book or hiking on a hidden gem of a trial just a few minutes walk away. We'd definitely come to stay again. Summary: This house is beautiful and as others have said - immaculate. Dorren and Max are very gracious light-touch hosts, who give you privacy while also offering assistance when needed. Thoughtful touches in decor & including special touches - delicious goodies, fresh flowers, and a well appointed kitchen. We’ve stayed in the area four times in different rentals and this was by far the best. The nature center across the road has beautiful trails & very close to Glimmerglass Opera. Highly recommend. Summary: This was a gorgeous property, tucked away in the hills north of Cooperstown. The house was incredibly clean, safe, well appointed, and the bed was more comfortable than home! Doreen was a wonderful host, very responsive, and still giving us the space and privacy we were looking for on our anniversary weekend. I highly recommend this property - one of the best we’ve ever stayed in!
