The biggest perk of this retreat is the location. Downtown Santa Cruz is two and a half blocks away; there, you'll find yourself surrounded by an eclectic downtown scene offering street performers, local boutiques, vintage stores, and dining on any cuisine you might desire. Dining options and convenience stores abound nearby, so you shouldn't have any problem finding them. The San Lorenzo River is just a short walk away, as well as the well-known and iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which is is one of the town’s main draws, offering family-friendly fun year-round. Visit Municipal Wharf and listen to the calls of the sea lions, rent surfboards and hit Cowell's Beach in search of the perfect wave, or rent some bikes and explore some of the nearby paved trails. You better pack your sunscreen and beach towel! The soft sands of Santa Cruz Beach are less than half a mile from you! Other attractions include the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, a day trip to San Francisco (77.5 miles), and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, only 46 miles south.

This is one half of a duplex. The owner lives in the other half of this duplex, and the shared walls are separated by closets on each side.
A Parking Permit is provided. There is a $150 charge for taking it or losing it. You may park on Younger and 3rd Ave without a parking permit from October through May 13. Parking permits are only required to park on 2nd Ave at meters during that time. From May 14 to September, this permit is required for parking on any street surrounding the unit. One parking permit will be available for guests during the months when it is required. Please pay attention to the signs. Please return the parking permit to the table under the TV in the living room before you leave.
Parking notes: Street parking is available on a first-come-first-serve basis; parking is not guaranteed.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Summary: This was perfect for our family of four (two kids under 5) for a weekend in Santa Cruz. It was a few blocks from the beach and Boardwalk, so it was a great home base for beach activities. It was super clean, the directions were very clear and it had everything we needed.

Summary: My three young sons and I enjoyed a two-night stay at this charming little cottage. It was a tight fit for the four of us but we were willing to compromise on space in order to be so near the beach! The neighborhood felt safe and is very quaint. We have stayed at another house nearby and didn't have any trouble with the neighborhood either. Parking is limited but since our stay was in the off season we didn't have any trouble finding a spot near the house. The kitchen was decently stocked and allowed us to make all of our meals there. Don't forget to bring your own foil, plastic wrap and storage bags and seasonings if you want more than salt and pepper. I also recommend bringing your own shower soaps. We loved the neat, clean, little cottage!

Summary: My husband and I just got married last weekend and wanted to do a little mini moon getaway in Santa Cruz. The bungalow is cute and perfect distance from the beach/boardwalk and downtown. Our only recommendation would be a mattress topper for the bed. The bed was very uncomfortable and we both had backaches every morning. Other than that, we highly recommend!

Summary: We stayed for 26 days in Santa Cruz to help out and spend time with our daughter, son-in-law, 3 yr old granddaughter and newborn grandson. We have stayed in Santa Cruz many times but not close to the boardwalk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This location was perfect to spend time with our daughter's family during the day and able to enjoy the evenings downtown and at the boardwalk. The house is half of a duplex with the owner, Keith next door. He is so nice, friendly and very helpful as to giving us recommendations of favorite places to go close by. The house was clean, bed comfortable, and good shower pressure. The kitchen was clean and had what we needed. The location was on a quiet street and street parking was easy to find. A parking pass was provided. We would definitely book a stay here again.

Summary: Cozy little place that was comfortable and quaint. The location can’t be beat! We parked and walked to the beach and boardwalk multiple times during our stay and barely drove unless we wanted to go to the movies or on an excursion. It really is a 5 minute walk just have to trek up a hill. It is an older home and small with a bedroom as soon as you walk in and kind of an awkward bathroom, but everything was clean and worked. Our kids happily slept in the other room on the futon (ages 8 & 10) and loved the tv and access to Netflix kids and Amazon Prime. We also enjoyed the convenience of the full size fridge, microwave and stove. We brought a lot of food/drink for our family and it did save us a lot of money making lunches, breakfast and dinner if we wanted to stay in. The front porch was very nice to sit and drink a glass of wine or play cards. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe there. The owners also left a few beach towels, beach chairs and boogie board for the guests to enjoy. We utilized the fan they had in the closet, which was nice. I would recommend this home for a family of four if the kids are 10 years and under or a couple. There are lots of hotels nearby, but they were so much more expensive and you don’t have the option to have the full size fridge/stove and pots/pans/utensils.. etc. The only other feedback to relay back to the owner is to replace the trashcan in the kitchen since the step pad was broken. We also didn’t know where to empty the trash out and didn’t want to walk around to the backyard since that was their private residence. My husband also observed it might be time to replace the curtain and hangers in the shower. They were rusting due to the moisture in that room. Thanks for the great stay! We made some great memories with our family.

Summary: This place was great! Really too much to list so here are some of the highlights... Street is clean and safe Really close to the Boardwalk, Beach, Warf. (5ish minute walk) Small but comfortable, great place to came back to and relax after a busy day playing Mattress was very comfortable. Owner lives right next door and is very nice and helpful We will definitely stay here again! One thing everyone needs to understand, parking in Santa Cruz sucks. I used to live there and its horrible regardless of location. Unfortunately this place is no different. Don't assume you will get a parking spot right in front. However, there's lots of parking within a couple minute walk. It's not a ding against this place just a heads up.
