Positive: Breakfast was available to buy at the restaurant..was ok…coffee not great
Negative: the bungalow was quite run down and not really felt clean..the bathroom was old and tired, the toilet brush still had brown liquid in it…shower had old containers still on wall and needed new grouting etc…curtains all a bit old not easy to draw at night…screens dirty…just felt whole place has seen better days..I think it’s fine for expats who are working there and living long term and not expecting higher standards but not a fresh holiday feeling..compared to other places we stayed in Vanuatu…. Loved the washing machine…and the view No kayaks available either as mentioned in the hostel information when I booked….Cracks in them.. We loved the local staff though they were friendly and always seemed to be laughing & happy and the food at Birdies was good mostly but not consistent……….great location
Summary: a bit disappointing for the value for money…..

Positive: Caroline and Damien great hosts Nothing a bother. The restaurant food delicious, and thank you Louisa and Irene for being so friendly. We were in a beachfront cottage with greats views of the ocean. The snorkeling was very good from the jetty, with lots of different fish. We hired a driver Jacob from the local village who was very good and lots of local knowledge..

Positive: Damien and Caroline were amazing, they went above and beyond to make our stay as best as possible. The Restaurant staff were all lovely and the food was amazing. I had read all the reviews about the Seafood Laksa so gave it a go during my staff. I can see why it was well rated, it was absolutely amazing. Breaky Wrap and Veal Schnitzel were among my other favourites as well. The 1 man band on Sunday "Jimmy" was thoroughly enjoyable and is extremely talented. Overall I highly recommend Island Magic Resort for an enjoyable stay at Port Vila.
Negative: Occasional power and water outages.
Summary: Highly recommended, enjoyed every moment.

Negative: We found staying right next to the restaurant/bar was noisy in the evenings so would just ask for a cabin a little quieter next time.

Positive: Island Magic was incredible. The bungalows are really spacious, well appointed and have awesome views onto the water. The reef is really healthy, vibrant and teeming with colourful fish, it was so good to be able to snorkle multiple times a day. Theres a really nice jetty and walkway directly onto the reef. Hosts and staff are really nice and welcoming. The onsite restaurant is the hub, with excellent food; guests come from other resorts to dine here. Nearby is the Tanna Coffee, and a public beach which was a lovely walk and opportunity to get to know some locals. At the end of the beach is the new Mali Beach Club to reward yourself with a drink. We didnt want to leave. Thanks Caroline, Damien, and all the staff.

Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed staying here for 8 days. Our bungalow was 10 metres from the water and we spent many hours on our verandah enjoying the beautiful weather. The snorkelling just off their jetty was exceptional. Inside our bungalow we had everything you could think of. Their restaurant food was delicious and we would return just to have the seafood laksa again. The staff with their beaming smiles made our days and Paul Lota recommended by the managers is a fantastic tour guide. Paul is funny, knowledgeable and a careful driver. Visiting a local school was a highlight for us. 10/10 for the managers Caroline and Damien.
