Summary: Everything you want you can find in the house. We had a nice stay. The only tiny bit negative is that the fotos suggest that you have the whole garden, but you cannot go to the small river because there is a fence in the garden. The garden still is big enough tough with enough sun and shadow.

Summary: Very comfortable and cool in this hot weather. Lighting could be improved and bit more colour as furniture quite dark. A couple if suggested improvements - the stones by the door were quite dangerous a smoother surface would be easier and help prevent stones coming inside. Plus more information about walks and cycling nearby would be helpful. Otherwise a lovely spot to chill and relax

Summary: We stayed at the Barn Owl for 2 weeks this summer. What a charming little barn this was! It was very tastefully decorated, with a generous sense of space and oodles of character. Juliette, the host and her cats were wonderful and made our stay very comfortable and welcoming. Do not expect a great mobile or 4G or wifi data allowance - but this limitation really fades into insignificance once you soak in the beauty and character both inside and out. The place is just a short drive from Saulieu for groceries and the odd crate of wine! There are several lakes in the region for a swim and barbecue. The best thing about this region is the weather - it is not baking hot like some places in France. It was extremely pleasant (punctuated by rain, but that was ok too!) and it cooled down at night for a comfortable sleep. We cannot wait to go back again.
