Positive: Villa Foresta is a hidden gem surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful nature with beautiful views that allow you to truly enjoy the calm atmosphere. The hospitality was exceptional. Janaka the owner and the staff especially Ravi were very friendly and attentive ensuring that our stay was comfortable from start to finish and also arranged us a trip to the forest and waterfall. Breakfast and dinner were very delicious. My two boys loved this place! the exploration of the wildlife like frogs, lizards, birds and bugs combined with the games inside the villa, the pool and the campfire at night was the perfect combination for them. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sri Lanka who wants to enjoy nature, comfort, and great hospitality in one place.

Positive: We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

Positive: Great location with an amazing view. The pool was beautiful. The access road isn’t the easiest, but it’s worth it. I learned that the owner prefers not to improve the road to protect the environment, and I completely agree. They arranged a 4WD vehicle from Kalawana, and that ride itself was an unforgettable experience. The staff were excellent. Our driver was careful, skilled, and drove like a pro, calm and friendly throughout. Then there’s our friend Ravi; a truly great person who treated us exceptionally well. He was considerate, helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond to provide anything we needed. The food was fantastic, with plenty of fresh and delicious fruits. The Sri Lankan breakfast was especially tasty. They also arranged a Singharaja tour for us, including a waterfall visit, which was a wonderful experience. Definitely worth the price. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the whole experience.

Negative: One improvement I’d suggest is adding more comfortable seating around the place. It’s not bad as it is, but a couple of beanbags or a sofa would make it even cozier.

Positive: Absolutely amazing, truly one of a kind place. It’s more than a stay, it’s an experience. The location is simply breathtaking, tucked deep in the rainforest, high up on a hill, and only accessible via an an off-road drive in a 4x4 vehicle provided by the villa. We took a guided tour to the Sinharaja rainforest from the property, but just staying in the villa felt just as special. The food was exceptional, prepared on-site by local staff using fresh, organic local ingredients. Without a doubt, these were the best meals we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented in the most stunning setting. I highly recommend not only breakfasts, but also lunches and dinners in the villa, they were amazing. Our 6 and 9 years old enjoyed it as much as my wife and I did. The swimming pool is another highlight. Clear, well maintained, and offering a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. It was the perfect way to unwind and cool off after a rainforest hike. We arrived not knowing exactly what to expect, but the villa far exceeded our expectations. If we had more time before our flight back home, we would definitely extend our stay. An unforgettable experience.
