Positive: You arrive in Abu Simbel to visit the temples. You leave with a wonderful human meeting in mind. We are so happy to met Yaya and his brothers. We have discussed and laughed all together. They also have a very nice house, very comfortable, and offered us good advises and tuk tuk transportation inside the village. Thank you Mahmoud! Also, the night show on the temples is great. So take time to stay for the night in Abu Simbel at Yaya’s house Karma Kono, and for sure you will love it

Positive: The best stay on our trip to Egypt. Yaya was an incredible host and arranged some magical trips for us. The sunset felucca to see the temples was breathtaking. The house is large, clean and incredibly peaceful. We stayed two nights, and enjoyed every minute.

Positive: A relaxed stay in the middle of our long trip in Egypt, and we managed to book the perfect place for it. The place was as in pictures, spotless and well cleaned. There is a nice veranda outside where we had our breakfasts. It's walking distance from the temple and high street with all the food outlets. Nice views all around! And the host Yahya took very good care of us including receiving, drop off and even light show tickets. Also he made a great breakfast every morning!

Positive: Karma Kono in Abu Simbel is truly a hidden gem! For the price, it’s an absolute wow — far beyond what we expected. The house is beautiful, spotless, and full of Nubian charm. Our host, Yaya, was incredibly gracious and welcoming, and even treated us to a delicious traditional Nubian hibiscus drink on arrival. Breakfast was good, and the entire place felt very cozy and comfortable — we instantly felt at home. The location is unbeatable, just a few minutes from the magnificent Abu Simbel Ramses Temple. If you’re visiting Abu Simbel, don’t think twice — this place is a rare find and totally worth it! 🌟

Negative: The only small thing to keep in mind is that although the house has two washrooms, only one has a toilet. But aside from that, everything was truly top-notch.

Positive: Hidden gem if you are visiting Abu Simbel. Yaya was an amazing host. He coordinated a ride from the airport, helped us get lunch upon arrival at his brother's restaurant (which was fantastic), got us tickets for the sound and light show, coordinated a tuktuk to get us around the entire stay, and organized a sunrise boat ride to Abu Simbel. He accompanied us to many of the places to ensure we got arrived and showed us where to go. Overall, Yaya made our trip to Abu Simbel memorable and easy. I would highly recommend his place and his hospitality.

Positive: This is a very large property - bigger than we expected. It was very clean, well looked after, cool and comfortable. Yaya, the owner, greeted us. He was a lovely guy. We only stayed one night but we actually discussed that we should have stayed longer. The town is significantly less touristy than Luxor and Aswan and in the evening we went about our way almost ignored. This apartment and this town are a good place to rest up and take a break. We really liked this apartment and Yaya made us feel welcome. I would stay at this property again in a heartbeat.

Positive: The house is super spacious and really clean. A fresh welcome drink was waiting for us when we arrived. The bed was really comfy and being able to use a washing machine was helpful after a lot of traveling in the week before. Really enjoyed our stay, Yaya was very friendly and accomodating and even made our breakfast at 5.30 in the morning! Highly appreciated. We could not recommend this place more, the Nubian hospitality is unmatched :)

Positive: I can’t explain how incredible staying at Yaya’s house was. If you like sharing with local people, talking with them, walking around and saying hi to local kids and families, this is a lovely stay. Yaya was so helpful and nice and organised everything so our stay would be perfect. The house is really well equipped and even though the living room in the summer is a bit too hot we just lounged on the terrace all day. Yaya organised a morning trip to see the sunrise from the lake at Abu Simbel, incredible experience. Hopefully ill come back some day.

Negative: The living room is hot, maybe a fan would be helpful if anyone wants to be inside.
