Positive: The price is affordable. The room is large and has air conditioning and a refrigerator. Two bottles of water are included (although the host forgot and only brought them the next day).

Negative: 1.When I made the booking, it was already confirmed by message that breakfast was included. After check-in, the host even asked what time we wanted breakfast the next morning, and we said 9:00 AM. However, on the day itself, we were told that breakfast was not included and would cost $5 per person. I really don’t like being misled like this. 2.There were many children outside the house who were very noisy and kept knocking on the door repeatedly. We even gave each of them a pen, but they still continued knocking and making noise outside the room until late at night.

Summary: I would consider staying again only if the host keeps their promises.

Positive: The host, Aladdin, is warm, friendly, and ready to solve any problem. After a long and tiring journey, we felt right at home here. The room was spacious and the cleanest we stayed in during our time in Egypt. If you want to watch the sound and light show at Abu Simbel Temple, this is the place to stay. The host arranged pick-up and drop-off at the bus station and also offered transport to and from the light show for a very minimal fee. Since we were too tired to go out, we asked if the host could prepare dinner for us, and we ended up enjoying a wonderfully comforting meal at an excellent value. In short, it was absolutely perfect.

Positive: The room itself was large and comfortable.

Negative: Way too noisy. You can hear everything and people and kids up late making all kinds of noise. It might be a positive for some travelers, nice to hear people having fun, but we needed sleep. Don’t expect it to be quiet until 11 PM. Then in the middle of the night we were woken again by a group of dogs fighting outside the door. There was no communication. We messaged them through Booking.com and WhatsApp with no reply. We had to call and a child came out and gave us the key and didn’t explain anything else. After checking out the owner said he tried to contact me through Booking.com but couldn’t. No other property has had any problems doing that.

Summary: Disappointing, but maybe good for a different type of traveller.

Positive: Our host Alaeldin speaks English very fluently, so our communication went smoothly. We took a long-distance bus from Aswan to get here, and the welcome drink he offered was truly refreshing. He also gave us plenty of advice on using public transportation. Even when we had to catch a 6 a.m. bus the next day, he prepared breakfast for us a little after five in the morning. We are grateful for his generous assistance and had a great time here.
