Positive: My entire stay at La Maison Rouge was beyond exceptional. From the very first moment, I felt welcomed, cared for, and honestly, like I was at home. The kindness and attentiveness of the hosts made all the difference—they were always available for anything I needed, and treated me with such warmth that I truly felt spoiled in the best possible way. The room exceeded all my expectations: it was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and very convenient—everything was always clean and well-maintained. Every little detail was thought out with care. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and complete, with a variety of options that made each morning something to look forward to. Another beautiful surprise was the presence of their adorable animals—I had the chance to pet them, and it added a very special, peaceful touch to my experience. I leave Bologna with my heart full, deeply grateful for this stay. The city is now one of my favorite places in the world, and La Maison Rouge is a big reason why. I’m already counting the days to come back—next time, with my entire family, because I want them to experience the same magic I did. To the wonderful hosts: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail made this trip unforgettable. You have created a place that is much more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to feel loved.
Negative: One small thing I would like to mention—not as a complaint, but as helpful advice for future guests from outside the European Union: if you're planning to rent a car in Italy and your driver's license is from a non-EU country, make sure to bring an international driving permit. I forgot to get mine, so I wasn’t able to rent a car during my stay. Since La Maison Rouge is not located on the main road, having a car would have been convenient. That said, it wasn’t a problem at all thanks to Giorgio, one of the incredible hosts. Every single day, no matter the time, he kindly picked me up at the bus stop at the beginning of the road leading to La Maison Rouge. I had to travel daily to the Gelato University during my 6-day stay, and thanks to his generosity, transportation was always smooth, comfortable, and without any issues.

Positive: A charming place where we felt welcome.
Negative: Hard to find in the dark. Went around half an hour in the surroundings. You can't see the house from the road and the sign is standing a bit in ti the small road.

Positive: We liked the harmony (each room is dedicated to the divine opera singer Maria Callas and the composers that created her immortal music: Mascagni, Puccini and Verdi) the friendliness of the hosts, the setting surrounded by trees and green countryside, the clean and spacious bathroom, the ample choice of breakfast options.
Negative: Maybe a couple of mosquito nets at the windows would be an ecological solution to keep pests out of the bedroom.

Positive: Nice quiet location just off the main road into Bologna Nice genuine hosts who made me welcome. Their dogs liked me so that was a bonus. Good breakfast, lite but perfect. Bed and linen exceptional.
Negative: Finding the place after hot days riding, all good in the end.

Positive: Alessio is the perfect hospitable host. He made us feel like home within a few hours, showing us local traditions in cuisine, sharing stories and recommendations and even cooking for us and sharing drinks together for a couple of evenings. The location, altough a bit remote, is within driving distance to any points of interest in the region. It’s perfect for relaxing, working remotely and getting an authentic italian countryside experience.
