LA PACE - The house is well equipped with two double rooms, kitchen with dishwasher, two bathrooms with jacuzzi and washing machine, spacious living room with 1 sofa and 2 armchairs, wood stove with fireplace, basement, veranda with seating and grill, 3 balconies with a beautiful view of the lake . - 'LA PACE' and 'VILLA IOLANDA' are two separate houses with a separate garden, which are located below Cremia, whose district Marnino - in the nature reserve - ideal for switching off. The stone cottages are on the lake shore preferred by George Clooney, on a green country terrace 200m above the lake with beautiful panoramic views. Extensive hiking trails are right outside the front door, such as the 'Via Monte Lariani', an old hiking trail that starts in Como and ends in Sorico with a constant view of the lake.
'LA PACE' and 'VILLA IOLANDA' can be reached on foot from the public car park, which is about 5 minutes away. It is about 10 minutes on foot and about 2 minutes by car to Lake Como.
Without using the car, within a 5-minute walk there is a soccer field, a children's playground, a bar and a supermarket open until 7 p.m.
La Pace and Villa Iolanda are in an ideal place for walks and excursions, without cars and surrounded by nature. All the countries of northern Lake Como are connected by a lakeside walk.

La Pace and Villa Iolanda are open all year round. From the house you can take many smaller and larger hikes. All year round there is the possibility to drive up to approx. 1000m high by car and from there to enjoy wonderful views of hikes. These destinations can also be reached by mountain bike from many places.
The Rifugio 'La Canua' (1500m high) can be reached in 20 minutes by car. and an hour's walk. There you have a wonderful view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.
Even in winter you can be in a large sunny ski area (3000m high) in 1 hour, often with a lot of snow. Maps and overviews are available in the house.

Summary: Mauro's place has spectacular views across Lake Como and Cremia is a great base to explore all that Como has to offer. Cremia itself has a lovely beach and some good restaurants. Mauro is a great host who gave us lots of information about the house and area. The house is well equipped with everything needed for a great stay. There is a walk from the car but only 5 minutes and with beautuful views! Thank you!

Summary: My stay was memorable. I loved the house, the view, the neighbors, the craftmanship. Mario and his neighbor built this house, and you can tell the character, the detail, and placement of the windows. Especially in the main bedroom, you can see the lake when you wake up, and the top of the mountain peak from another window. The heatalor fireplace warms the home. Firewood is stacked in the adjacent house which he owns and rents. Both properties are very Italian and comfortable. Mario is also a wine maker and can direct you in some tasty Reds. He maps out trips and hiking trails. This a AAA vacation spot.

Summary: It is a very quit beautiful place. there is everything you need in the house. Mauro, the owner, helps you with everything you ask him. And he is always available and friendly. He speaks a few languages. If you can not walk very well it is not that easy to go to the house. you can’t reach it by car.

Summary: We had a wonderful sunny week at La Pace. It was all as expected and shown in advance. Mauro showed us around and even gave hints for trips, diners and where to go if anything needed. The parking lot is just a short walk away and several small paths can be discovered. We spent the week hiking, swimming, renting a boat and enjoying the beautiful little and big towns around the lake.

Summary: This 2-storey, 2-bedroom unit is unique in many ways. Its location is somewhat remote and a challenge to reach with hairpin turns to navigate on the road, and a 10-minute walk along an undulating, stone-paved path, so would not be suitable for guests in a wheelchair or who have difficulty walking. However, for all others, the views and the engagement with chickens and sheep along the way make the access memorable and delightful. Mauro, the perfect host, will transport your luggage on his electric cart and will show you all the ins and outs of making the fire, operating the TV and is always available to provide help or advice as needed. ten minutes drive away is the L'Abbaie restaurant where, if you're lucky, you might encounter George Clooney. And if he's not there, the Gin Wall displaying 100 different types of gin is worth the visit. Enjoy!

Summary: We had two great weeks in this beautiful house on Lake Como. It is a large place with a very nice view on the lake from one of the three balconies. The kitchen is very complete and that also goes for the rest of the house. It could be a bit of a challenge though for people who have difficulty with walking.

Summary: We were so glad to have found this place. Super host, great views, and the nine minute walk to the car turned out to be a bonus because of the scenery along the way. We enjoyed seeing our friends the dogs, sheep, goats, cat and pony! The walks down to the waterfront and up to the little town were also pretty. We thought this was so much better than staying somewhere overrun with tourists.

Summary: Great place & location coupled with Mauro’s hospitality offset the one deficency (ie. the second bathroom being in the basement). Important to note that the house’s location is a 10 minute hike from parking place if one is not mobile - otherwise this is more than offset by the house’s charm, location and view of Lake Como and the surrounding terrain. We would come again!!!
