The Sunset House is nestled in the sand dunes of Great Sand Bay, the house derives some of its power from solar panels. Go to bed and wake up to the peaceful sound of the waves hitting the beach. You will enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Superior sunsets (always different) in the evenings and later at times the Northern Lights. For the early riser a walk down on the beach you can also see the sunrise to the right or east. First floor of the Sunset House is a large carpeted living area and game room with Satellite TV with hundreds of channels, Ping Pong Table, Air Hockey Table, Hockey Foosball table, Dart Board and Stereo system. There is also a spare Refrigerator Freezer for extra groceries. The main floor Has a monster Fully Furnished kitchen with everything you need to prepare and serve most any meal. There is also a washer & dryer, dining room, full bathroom with shower and bath tub, fully furnished carpeted King Bedroom, Carpeted entertainment Room with 60" plasma TV with 100's of channels a DVR, VCR with hundreds of movies games, toys and puzzles. Very comfortable Lazy Boy full size sofa sleeper. Carpeted living room with Lazy Boy rockers and recliners full size pull out Futon, Library area with many history books about the area and many other book topics. Upstairs 2 fully carpeted fully furnished King Bedrooms one with walk out Glass balcony with table and seating for 2 over looking the beach and Lake Superior. Full Bathroom with shower upstairs. Huge Deck with Log and Wood Furniture Large Picnic table 1 gas grill and 1 charcoal grill. Enjoy the Sunsets, fires on the beach in the fire pit, Northern lights, or get up early and enjoy the sunrise on the 2 person swing with table or the other wooden beach furniture on the sand dunes overlooking Lake Superior.

Summary: From the moment you exit your vehicle at The Sunset House you hear the waves of Lake Superior and immediately head around the house to see the unbelievable view. There is Superior’s shore barely 100’ away. The house is great. It’s what you envision a classic Keweenaw lake shore beach house to be. The patio is spacious and the old Adirondack chairs make for a superb morning coffee perch to read a bit and listen to the lake. The fire pit was stocked with some incredibly dry wood that produced roaring campfires each night about 20’ feet from the water. Perfection. The Sunset House is quiet and peaceful both day and night. The Fitz is two minutes away in Eagle River for a night out. You’ll love it. We did. Jon and Rachel E.

Summary: We stayed for a week in mid-July, and were very pleased with this property. I cannot say enough about how amazing the pristine Great Sand Bay beach is! Swam almost everyday and made a little fire with s’mores. Sunsets were beautiful! The house had everything we needed, and the decor was really cute. The Eagle River location is great whether you head back south to Houghton/Hancock, or want to spend some time up in Copper Harbor. I can also see this being a perfect rental for a snowmobiling trip with the game room downstairs for entertainment on a winter night after adventuring in the snow.
