Great for skiers, trampers, mountain bikers, horse-riders. Plenty of room, with a casual rustic atmosphere. Handy to amenities and the end point of the 42nd traverse, Owhango has beautiful bush walks, river swimming and kayaking, fishing, and more. Five minute walk to essential supplies at the Owhango Hotel, and a 15 min drive to the supermarket in Taumarunui. In the other direction it is 15 min to National Park township with their rock climbing wall and 4-wheel drive tours. Only a 25 min drive to the beautiful Whakapapa ski field.
Linen is provided for all the beds but if you wish to use the lounge sleeping area you will need to provide your own pillows/linen/sleeping bags for this.

Summary: Very roomy and well organised. It has a lodge/bach/homely feel. Everything you need in one place with a fire to warm the place beautiful ly. We bought fish n chips in Taumaranui, plus a few drinks and had a relaxing night. We'd definitely come back, and bring more family next time.

Summary: Property just as described. Rustic, warm and cozy. Can’t fault our stay at all though sadly I found the spa pool was too hot for me, but hubby and our sons loved it! We will definitely return.

Summary: We are keen Mountain bikers & this cottage is a convenient base for riding the 42T & other trails in the area such as the Fisher track or Ohakune Old Coach Rd. It has a relaxed feel & the spa is nice to soak in after a big day of activity
