Summary: This place is super cozy and charming! The warm wood interior of the cottage makes you feel right at home, and the view of the lake is just incredible. The water's a bit chilly, but it's clear and peaceful, and there’s plenty of space for the family. They’ve got all the fun stuff—canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and even a big stash of board games! We’ve stayed here twice now, and the host is always so thoughtful, checking in before and during the stay and even being flexible with late checkout. We loved it—such a perfect spot to make memories with family. Can’t wait to come back!

Summary: We enjoyed the most refreshing weekend surrounded by the bush, the lake and the fantastic fall colors. We had everything we needed and more for a family of 6 and our dog. You can tell the owners take pride in their place and they were available if we had any questions. The fire pit was great in the evening, and the views of the lake were awesome especially from the master bedroom. The ensuite bath was also a great amenity. The cottage is very spacious inside and out and we loved having the indoor fireplace to cozy up to. It would be great in the summer with swimming and canoe and paddleboard and the screened porch and gazebo...we will have to come again! The only downsides would be the steep hills in winter if that scares you and the many steps down to the lake (or, rather back up to the cottage) if you are not fit or have knee problems...but the lake views can be enjoyed from the cottage/deck without having to go down. And use caution following the trails in fall as the leaves make the trail/markers very hard to see. We definitely would recommend this place and would come again.

Summary: Luke is an excellent and very responsive host. He gave us lots of good info and advice and responded promptly to questions. Thumbs up for: - spacious with well-equipped kitchen & linen closet - lots of toys, non-motorized watercraft, AV equipment - abundant bird life (loons, heron, kingfisher, hummingbird) Could be improved: - living room lighting quite dim for evening reading - boxspring and structure of double bed creaky and inadequate support for an adult - BBQ needs a good cleaning

Summary: Had this amazing property booked with some friends as a surprise birthday getaway for my partner, and everyone was impressed. The house sits high on a hill facing a gorgeous view of a lake. The house was equipped with everything you will need to spend an amazing weekend with friends. There are also lots of things to do, from BBQ-ing to having an outdoor fire, jumping in the lake, canoeing, hiking, reading, playing lots of games, and of course relaxing on the lower deck close to the beautiful clear water. You wouldn't want to leave if you had the choice! Our host Luke was super helpful and quick to reply if we had any issues or questions about the property. Thank you Luke!

Summary: We stayed here the weekend of March 11-13. The cottage and the setting are beautiful. The owners were quick to respond to all communications and allowed us a later checkout on Sunday. My only issue was the road in—it’s a private road that isn’t sanded or salted (at least it wasn’t on the weekend we went) with a steep hill to navigate just before reaching the cottage. On March 11, there was a sheet of ice just below the snowy surface and my lightweight Toyota Yaris couldn’t make it up the hill. The car slid down into a snowbank. To their credit, when I called the owners, they arranged for somebody to tow me out and covered the cost. The other members of the party drove up later that night in a Ford Explorer and ended up sliding sideways down the hill. We parked both vehicles at the bottom and lugged our stuff to the cottage, which required several trips up and down the icy slope. If I had known about the hill at the time of booking, I would have looked for a different place. We stayed at this cottage a year and a half earlier in the fall, and the owners said they didn’t say anything about the road at the time of this booking because they assumed we remembered what the road was like (I didn’t; I am one of those people who has trouble remembering what they ate the day before). The week of our planned stay, Luke did ask if my vehicle has four-wheel drive (it doesn’t) and then the morning of March 11, because a delivery van hadn’t been able to make it up the hill the day before, he offered to give us a full refund if we wanted to cancel (but also said in the email that he thought we would be fine, as long as we had some momentum as we started up the hill). My reason for going into detail about this is not to lay any blame; it’s just meant to be a cautionary note for anyone who may be considering staying at the cottage in the winter and who doesn’t have a heavy-duty vehicle. Both of ours did have snow tires, but those weren’t enough. On the other hand, I wouldn’t need any persuading to return in the spring, summer or fall. Like I said at the beginning, it is a lovely cottage in a gorgeous setting (and the fireplace is a definite bonus!).
