Positive: Very nice location. Very peaceful and you are surrounded by bush and wildlife. The food was top notch aswell. I really enjoyed my suite and it was relaxing sitting outside in the jacuzzi whilst being surrounded by forest. It's also nicely private and cozy so I can imagine it's great for couples aswell. I also enjoyed the guide's openness to help, to accommodate and overall friendlyness. Fantastic job.
Negative: The roads leading up to the lodge are terrible and riddled with potholes. Also, as a solo traveler, I sometimes felt a bit overlooked by the cooking staff compared to how couples and families were treated. For example the cook would call out that food is ready and I was left standing at the food counter without acknowledgment, even though I was standing right infront of her and no one else was waiting, while others were engaged with right away. On one occasion, the cook joked that she remembered my name “because you're alone,” which felt light-hearted in the moment but a bit off in hindsight. I also noticed small things like having to ask repeatedly for ice, or drinks being handed over unopened that added to the sense that solo guests weren’t given quite the same attention. It wasn't a huge issue, but the contrast made me feel a bit out of place at times.
Summary: Peaceful Lodge

Positive: Remote, quiet, peaceful, good food close to HLUHLUWE Game park. Lovely staff, super helpful. Enjoyed the bush walk tour. Outdoor bath was nice. The evening BBQ was really nice. Nice breakfast. The pool area was nice The in room massage was great.
Negative: The bathroom was a bit older than the fotos and quite damp. The check in was a bit unorganized because our roof wasn’t ready when we arrived at 15h45 due to a mix up.
Summary: Really enjoyed our stay.
