2 Bedroom Cottage in Horeke

Fully self contained 2 bdrm cottage on 125 acre lifestyle farm.
We have a small herd of cattle, including several Scottish Highland cattle. The bulk of the land is native bush, with bush walks.
Less than 1 km from the Pou Herenga Tai Twin-coast cycle way, and about 30 mins drive from both Kaikohe & Kerikeri. There is approx. 4km of un-tarsealed road to reach our place.
With a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining room/lounge - it is comfortable, warm and homely. There is a wood-burner for those cold nights.
We have cellphone reception (NOTE: phone calls require 4G VoLTE or 4G HD capability - not 3G which is the common one currently).
There is also Freeview TV and limited WiFi.
We have a security camera monitoring the entry gate to the property ONLY - it does NOT monitor the cottage. It operates 24/7 & is motion sensitive.

Summary: The property is in a lovely, peaceful location. The house has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, and is well looked after and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow and the communication with the owners was excellent.The only thing I would suggest is that it would be helpful for potential guests if it could be pointed out, in the description, that reaching the property by car requires driving for several kilometres on unsealed gravel roads.

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time at this property. Really handy for sightseeing across both coasts in the upper north island. Proximity to Kerikeri is an easy drive and the remote nature of the property was just what we needed. The property is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy a self catered holiday. Highly recommend friendly unobtrusive hosts and property. Thank you!

Summary: Lindy & Rick were wonderful host, hopeful, empathetic & accommodating. Thankyou both for a beautiful experience. Beautiful views, tranquilit, clean, beds were very comfy, plenty of wood for the fire which was warm & cosy. Would definitely stay again when visiting north.

Summary: The setting is north-facing, to bush and a rocky-bedded stream. Apart from the occasional sound from some friendly animal, you hear burbling water and wind in the trees. Inside everything is ‘proper’ and well maintained. The fire has copious supplies of dry wood replenished daily, from trees on the property. The couches are comfy and the kitchen is well-appointed. Ōkaihau is 10 or 12 kms away and has cafes and stores. It is a lovely small traditional NZ town. Village? The location is convenient for all the destinations in the area whether Ngawha Springs, Kaikohe and all spots around the Hokianga.

Summary: Lovely place to base ourselves for a wedding in Kerikeri. Very quiet and peaceful with everything we needed. We are animal lovers so were very happy to have Max the dog come for a visit, and enjoyed birdspotting.

Summary: Lindy and Rick are amazing hosts. Bach is fully contained and has everything if you want to stay for a couple of weeks. It feels like a home away from home peaceful and quiet exactly what we looking for. Had a good chat with the hosts before leaving they were kind enough to spare some time For to show us around. we definitely wanna spend more days next time.
