Positive: Some of the staff were at times either not friendly enough or some we overly friendly. I loved the lodge but there were a lot of ants around. Even in the room, like on the desk. The staff was aware and often cleaned surfaces. The kitchen and buffet staff did a wonderful job. The food was very, very good.
Negative: We came to Lodge Damaraland for Twijfelfontein and the desert elephants. We could register for the drive and the excursion but the drive from the Lodge to Twijfelfontein is very long on a roughC-road.
Summary: We had a wonderful stay but the location is not the best depending on your goals.

Negative: A better toaster would be great At this rate the cappuccino etc for breakfast should be free of charge

Positive: It was a stop over to break a long trip. There were lots of staff and no clients except us and another person. Limited food selection on that basis.
Negative: Quite expensive for an out of the area place but nicely done

Positive: A lovely stopover between Damaraland and Etosha, and a nice splurge for a night out of the tent. Great linens and pillows. Pool was divine. Lovely setting for dinner (worth getting because you have to drive if you want to eat anywhere else).
Negative: Not much, really! The only suggestion I would make is to have/allow guests to enjoy breakfast outside on the lovely terrace, as you do for dinner.

Positive: The lodge is stylishly designed with very nice and modern rooms. The pool area overlooking the hills is very pleasant. The food is good and the staff is very kind and helpful. The lodge is well located for a stopover in damaraland.
Negative: Our stay would have been perfect but unfortunately after dinner we realised our room was infested by mosquitoes (some had even gotten under the mosquito net) , although we had taken all the precautions to avoid mosquitoes entering the room and we used repellent. We tried to reach out to reception later in the night to maybe ask to change rooms as we realised we would not have slept well but no one was available. Unfortunately this did not let us have a good night’s sleep. We really hope this problem will be solved as the lodge has everything else to ensure a great stay.
