The Austin-Lake home, originally built in 1837 with Lucy Lake, a tailoress plying her trade as Hudson's local tailoress/seamstress for the duration of 34 years until her passing in 1877. Mrs. Lake is proudly noted as the sole owner of 230 North Main Street. Lucy's mother, Lucinda Hurn Markillie also lived with her daughter until her passing in 1850. Lucinda is known for an existing journal she wrote while immigrating from Lincolnshire England in 1833 aboard the well known fast sailing ship - The Westmoreland. The original historically significant journal much studied by scholars for its many insights into early 1800's immigration is beautifully written and meticulously preserved. The leather bound journal today rests in the Hudson Library Historical Archives. The Greek Revival farmhouse remains true to its original build with its facade, charming covered front porch and fenced red brick courtyard. The home is lovely inside and out, beautifully preserved and restored. The essence of a bygone era with all its charm and character is proudly on display in Hudson’s prominent downtown historic district. Lucy’s House is a treasure beyond its historical significance. The early Hudsonites who courageously journeyed from far and wide to make Hudson, Ohio their home is best felt on Main Street with its many charming shops and restaurants. Walking distance to shops and restaurants, Western Reserve Academy, Hudson Library, grocery store and so much more. Summary: Me and my friend came to see a band at Blossom Music Theater in Cuyahoga Falls. We found this gem and booked for the weekend. Our host was by far the best host I’ve ever had. She was responsive and thought of every little detail. We truly enjoyed our time in Hudson and look forward to returning for more adventures!Thank you for sharing your space with us!

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at Lucy’s House, nestled right in the heart of historic downtown Hudson. The house is full of charm and character, beautifully maintained and thoughtfully decorated to highlight its historic roots while offering all the comforts of a modern stay.Our room was spotlessly clean (which is most important to me!), incredibly cozy, and so darn cute —you can tell every detail was chosen with care. The owner personally greeted us upon arrival, made check-in a breeze, and was always quick to answer questions or offer fantastic local recommendations. She also offered great snacks for those late night cravings!The location is unbeatable—just steps away from all the quaint shops, coffee spots, and restaurants that make downtown Hudson such a gem. The house itself is stunning, inside and out, and truly feels like a home away from home.Highly, highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Hudson. We’d come back in a heartbeat—10/10 experience!

Summary: Lucy’s is wonderful! Came into town with my girlfriend to visit friends and really enjoyed being right downtown. Lucy’s is steps away from coffee shops, restaurants, and stores and the building is very cool. Our host was extremely helpful and the attention to detail was top-notch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was great — everything was so clean and it had everything we needed to relax and unwind. The history of Lucy’s House is really fascinating. Truly a great experience!
