Couples Retreat or Adventure Weekend. Cross the Red Covered Bridge to Sturgeon Island and feel the stress of work life leave your body. We have everything you need at the Blue Cottage to make this a perfect Vacation. The Blue Cottage is modern and luxurious with 3 BDRM /2 baths overlooking the island pond. Across the low traffic island road is the lake access. Our dock is located in one of the best fishing spots on Sturgeon Lake. Throw your line in right off the dock, or bring your own boat. You are also welcome to dock it here. There are also 8 KAYAKS at the dock and 2 PADDLE BOARDS that are complimentary to use with your stay The new 570 SQFT Master suite has a fireplace, TV, and sitting area. The private Master Bath has a jetted garden tub and a two person shower. Other luxury additions are a 6 person sauna and an outdoor patio entertainment area, with outdoor grill, eating area, TV and fire pit. This area overlooks the pond where you have a private dock, equipped with two paddle boards and a kayak. Other attractions are the local ATV trails, General Andrews trails and the Soo Line. The Blue Cabin is located 50 miles south of Duluth where you can visit Spirit Mountain ski hill, Engler Tower, Canal Park, Bentleyville Christmas Lights Exhibit, Train rides and the Aquarium, Park Point and the Adventure Zone, an indoor all age play park.

Summary: The house was perfect for our girls weekend! Clean and had all the amenities that you would need. We loved using the sauna and the outside patio area was awesome! Definitely would stay here again!

Summary: The home was absolutely as pictured. Pretty clean overall and very comfortable! We had to fill all the propane cause there was only enough for one grill session but otherwise there was outdoor games in the amazing outdoor space and the space was very functional overall for our family and stay while in MN.

Summary: The Blue Cottage is a cleverly renovated and expanded island/lake/pond home, with many thoughtful and high-end touches: soft water, good appliances, dual rainfall showerheads, sauna, power window shades, leather furniture with power recliner and headrests, fast internet and 3 TVs (including one outdoors for patio parties). There are paddleboards and little kayaks for the pond, plus kayaks and a pontoon boat (separate charge) at a designated lake dock, located about 100 paces from the main house (and a flight of stairs too). Really a neat place!

Summary: This was a nice property with attention to details, beautiful views, comfortable beds, fancy showers (with very unpleasantly stinky water!), well appointed kitchen (but definite ant issue in cupboards, countertops, etc). The sauna was amazing, but the jacuzzi tub was un-useable because of the terrible smell of the water.
