THE SPACE
Large, luxurious and well appointed for those discerning guests.
The space is a perfect marriage between the old brownstone charm and the modern amenities.
Antique fire mantels with mirrors, tall ceilings, antique railings, pocket doors, large oversized windows, heart pine floors, intricate moldings, etc.
The property also bodes modern eclectic furnishings with design and comfort in mind, colorful oil paintings/artwork, antique persian rugs, and an unbeatable location.
First floor: large living room with comfortable velvet covered furnishings, work space with an antique Restoration Hardware desk, long stately dinning room table and a full kitchen with a separate sitting area. Also a full bath.
Kitchen includes high end stainless steel appliances, double door refrigerator, Breville stainless steel espresso machine, coffee machine, microwave and other cooking utensils and necessities.
Second Floor: Three large bedrooms – one king size bed and two queen size beds all with luxury high-end mattresses. Also another full bath, walking closets, and washer/dryer LG stacked units.
Third floor: a charming one bedroom in law suite/apt with another small kitchen, another king size bed, a sofa bed and a decorative fire mantels, decorative porch and a skylight.

First floor/basement apartment included in the listing bodes two additional bedrooms another full bath and another full kitchen -- the basement apartment has two separate entrances and it is completely separate from the top floor triplex (not connected through the triplex).
The basement apt. is bright rustic with exposed bricks, concrete floors, and stainless steel cabinets and appliances.

Summary: Great property! My wife, 3 kids and I really enjoyed our stay. David welcomed us to the house, gave us a quick tour, and filled us in on all the local restaurants. Really appreciated the welcome and the beer and wine in the fridge ;). House was super clean, super comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. The neighbor hood is awesome. Great vibe, great restaurants, and the train station was right down the street. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for a cool DC experience. We were able to walk every night to have awesome dinners and we took the train every day to go do all touristy bs us tourist do. Ha. Great times, great place. Thanks David!

Summary: A lovely week in DC, starting with a worm welcome by David, instructions about the house and the surroundings. Excellent neighbourhood with a lot of different restaurants, coffee shops and different stores. We spend all evenings in the local area. In working distance to the White House and central DC.

Summary: David's place is an excellent place from which to explore DC. It's mid-way between 3 busy restaurant-oriented neighborhoods: Dupont Circle, U-street/14th street, and Adams-Morgan. So if you want to enjoy meals out, there are a ton of options within 6-8 blocks in either direction. When you want to head farther away for museums or other sights, Uber and Lyft typically seemed to have many cars circulating nearby, and if you prefer the subway, the Dupont Circle and U-street stations are a .6-mile walk away. Unless you have to drive out of the city multiple times during your stay, don't waste any money on a rental car! The house has been nicely-remodeled and updated, with 3 full baths to help speed-up shower time before heading out. The full-sized washer/dryer on the 2nd floor is convenient to 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Beds are comfortable, with extra linens, blankets and towels easily accessible. We especially appreciated David's extra gesture of stocking the kitchen with an introductory portion of wine, beer, & espresso before our arrival. His Breville espresso machine was a very important part of our mornings! David met us upon arrival for a thorough walk-through of the house to teach us the finer points of managing locks, the thermostat, appliances, garbage day and more. We cooked about half our meals at the house and noticed a few useful kitchen utensils were missing and knives weren't sharp; so David dropped some extras by the house the next day (thank you!). And having a well-functioning dishwasher made post-meal cleanup quick & easy. Finally, when our departure flights were rescheduled to a later time in the day, David was very flexible about allowing us to leave our bags on-site after checkout, which gave us an extra half-day for sight-seeing in DC without having to worry about managing our bags. Sleep-wise, there are 2 bedrooms in the front of the house (1 on the 2nd floor, 1 on the 3rd) facing U street, which is a busy 4-lane arterial that also experiences frequent sirens from the police and fire stations 1 block away. The windows seem fairly well-insulated so this was not a problem for us, but if you have any light sleepers, you'll want to plan on them either bringing ear plugs or using one of the 2 bedrooms toward the alley in the rear. Bottom line, we'd enjoy renting David's place again for our next visit to DC. It's in a great location, is well-equipped, and is a much more comfortable option than a hotel.

Summary: Due to flight delays, we didn't arrive in DC until around 10:30 p.m. David warmly greeted us at his townhouse, giving us a brief tour and orientation. The home is clean, spacious and the beds and pillows were perfect...very comfortable. The location is ideal for walking to Georgetown, many great restaurants, Starbucks, Trader Joe's and just a short Uber ride to all the government buildings. We truly enjoyed our stay, as well as David's warm hospitality.

Summary: My family of 5 had a wonderful experience @ this U street property.My husband & I had the top floor bedroom,while the kids were in the other bedrooms.The location was great,and close to a lot of restaurants & things to do.We opted to not rent a car & used Uber or walking to get everywhere.The home was very clean & we were greeted by the owner David.He answered all our questions & recommended some places to see & do.The welcome bottle of wine & coffee was a nice treat.Our kids are 18,22 & 24 and the home gave our family a lot of space to where we were not all on top of one another.We would definitely rent this home again.Lesley S.Southlake,Tx
