Summary: We would highly recommend this property for two key reasons: 1) Karin and her team were easy to communicate with, reasonable, and warm...you can tell customer service is taken seriously with this team...2) the property is well-situated on the lake with a variety of watercraft provided and four blocks from a major shopping center where you can grab all key amenities. That meant that we could have fun in the sun on the lake during the day, and grab groceries, do some fun shopping, or eat out in the evening. The home is well stocked with all necessities and then some. I don't think you're going to lack for any kitchen or other household items. The rooms are all neat and clean, and as described. We loved and enjoyed the BBQ on the deck. This was also a good home for our dogs b/c they had space to swim, run, walk and dry off (on the balcony). We brought two dogs, one 15-pound and one 50-pound. House rules meant they did not get on the furniture or sleep in the beds (which was fine). Some notes here that didn't bother us but may be good for others to be aware of... a) Wifi is very weak. This didn't matter to us since the focus was DISconnecting but if you're planning to work, this may be an issue. b) The basement is spacious but there is only one room that is separated from the rest of the spaces in the basement, including the other two beds. The two beds in the shared larger space do have a curtain that separates them from the seating area in the basement. c) The basement rooms are the only sleeping areas that have "blackout" coverage so if you're light-sensitive, it's darker downstairs. d) If you have young children, elderly dogs, etc, you may want to bring a baby gate as the stairs to the basement are right by the front door and are steep. We are already talking about staying here again next year so we would recommend this to families. It's a lovely property and a relaxing stay.

Summary: Myself, my husband, our two year old son, my parents and my brother stayed here for 4 nights for a family get away. Communication with Karin was easy and clear, the home is well equipped with spices, glassware, kitchen appliances, pillows, towels... the list goes on. The view is peaceful, the beds were comfortable, the owner is friendly. I would definitely recommend this home to friends. The only thing we had issue with is that the wifi signal is a bit weak and slow. That is the only negative thing I have to say about the experience.

She really has thought of everything and you can see her passion for hosting in every detail from the beautiful welcome package to ensuring you have everything you need for making great family memories. Summary: Our stay at the Lakeview home was absolutely fabulous. This was our first time staying in Nanaimo and we really picked a winner. The house was large enough to accommodate us as a group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids). There was plenty of space for all to sleep and relax. There was a recreation room downstairs which was great for the kids to watch TV and play while the adults got to enjoy the upstairs. The house itself is in a great location less than 10 minutes from the Departure Bay ferry terminal and in close proximity to all your shopping needs. It comes fully stocked with everything you could need and more. Karin really made us feel welcome and even provided us with great ideas and outings to do around town. The best place in the house is of course the deck that overlooks Long Lake and the dock. Family breakfasts and dinners were so much more memorable because of the view. The walk down to the private dock from the lake is only a few meters and its a few minutes’ walk to the public sandy beach for swimming. The children thoroughly enjoyed using the watercraft's available and didn’t want to leave the water at all. We are already planning our trip for next year!

Summary: Our stay at Karin's Lakeview Home was just perfect! It was clean, well stocked, beautiful and Karin really goes out of her way to ensure the space works for the dynamics and needs of your group. I'd have to say that this is by far one of the best vacation rentals that I've ever been at. We'd absolutely return. The setting is also perfect and it was fantastic to have access to a well-maintained and stocked dock. The lifejackets and equipment were in great shape, and you save a lot of money and time without needing to travel and rent kayaks to access the lake. The location is also very convenient for groceries and any last-minute purchases needed. She takes a lot of pride in her properties and keeps the standard top notch!

Summary: We are a group of eight senior men who are school friends that go on an annual golf trip. This year we travelled to Vancouver Island and stayed at this vacation rental home in Nanaimo. Karin was a wonderful host and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The home is situated on Long Lake and is excellent for swimming, water skiing or kayaking. The patio/deck overlooks the lake and was a relaxing way to enjoy the afternoon and evening after a strenuous day on the links. We highly recommend this home for a trip such as ours and we will definitely be back.
