Spectacular six-bedroom house located on McGregor Lake close to Val des Monts beautifully set on its peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. The recently built cottage features a huge, high-ceilinged cathedral-style living room area with large kitchen, log fireplace, sofas and comfortable dining for up 12 guests.
Surrounding large glass windows give dramatic views over the lake with easy access to large balcony overlooking the lake with BBQ and outdoor seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with high quality appliances including two dishwashers, large fridge, gas hob and wine cooler.
The main floor also includes a study, larder, loo and screen porch with weatherall windows. Five of the six bedrooms are en suite with bath and/or showers – four are double, two are twins. There is also a separate family bathroom.
The property provides easy, gentle-sloping access to a pair of docks guaranteeing all-day sunshine and the provision of a canoe and four kayaks is included along with a selection of life jackets.
The cottage is five minutes from Val des Monts and just 30-minutes from downtown Ottawa. Golf, skiing, aerial and water-slide entertainment parks are also within a 20-minute drive. WIFI, satellite TV and other amenities are also provided.

Summary: I can't say enough good things about my family's stay on McGregor Lake. The property was absolutely amazing and I feel lucky that this lovely home could be shared with us this summer. Everything was perfect. There is a gorgeous view and access to the lake. Large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms for nearly every room. A spacious kitchen, dining area and living areas which made a larger family get together possible. It truly is hard to appreciate how fantastic the place is until you see it in person. Thank you so much again for sharing your wonderful home with us this summer!

Summary: This property is a gem. The house is roomy, and guests can each have their own bathroom. The kitchen is beautifully equipped. Lovely snowshoeing on the lake and lots of deer. Communication was smooth. Going back in the fall!

Summary: I’ll start be reiterating some comments from other reviews. The photos don’t do it justice and it really does feel like you’ve taken over a boutique hotel. The fact that everyone’s room has it’s own ensuite makes it such a comfortable stay for various groups, your in laws etc. There isn’t a mediocre view in the house. Every room has a beautiful view and the living room dinning room area is gorgeous and so cozy. We left talking about how we would love to stay again in the summer.

Summary: This property, Birchmore, is an absolute gem. Truly, the photos don't tell the whole story. The property is huge, and the house itself is too. It is so well equipped - it feels like you've taken over a boutique hotel. Every room has a dedicated full (generous) washroom which makes it perfect for a couple of families to stay together while having privacy. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything has been equipped to a very high standard. The kitchen is a dream for multiple people to cook together, and with the wrap-around views of the lake (the place is all windows), spending time inside was just as lovely as sitting outside. We took advantage of the canoe and took many paddles around the lake (which goes a long way if you're interested in a really long day of paddling). There are also kayaks (we stuck to the canoe as the ice had just receded). I also should say the owners were absolutely lovely and so accommodating. Check-in was very easy and it was nice to connect (virtually) with the owners to chat about their beautiful property. We stayed with our "bubble family" for just over a week during the pandemic, and the time spent here was so incredibly therapeutic. I can't say enough about this property and the time we spent - if you're fortunate enough to visit, you won't regret it.

Summary: Everyone had an excellent pre Christmas holiday. Lots of space for relaxing by the fire, reading playing board games and working on a puzzle. Fabulous kitchen with lots of space for meal prepping and good conversation. The pictures really don’t do the cottage justice. Hope to be back again!
