3 Bedroom Cottage in Brion, Les Bois d'Anjou

Le Pressoir is the estate’s former 'wine pressing house' complete with huge cave beneath. Sleeping up to 6 (plus cot), it is the largest of our gites and sympathetically restored to a high standard with exposed tuffeau stonework, stained glass windows and unique glazed tower. With 3 good size bedrooms downstairs (all en-suite, 1 bathroom and 2 shower rooms all with private toilet), it is perfect for comfortably accommodating a family or group of friends. The bedrooms are traditionally furnished with quality bed linen. The upstairs open-plan living area works well for entertaining, with a fully equipped kitchen and large comfy sofas for relaxing in the lounge area. The kitchen leads directly out onto a beautiful raised oak terrace. This child-safe deck offers complete seclusion and shade and has wonderful views over the grounds; perfect for mealtimes and enjoying the glorious sunsets. Alternatively, the ground floor sun terrace is great for barbecuing and overlooks the garden.
Le Logis du Pressoir is an 18th Century former wine estate, set in the historic hamlet of Brion in 5 acres of beautiful, secluded grounds complete with a mini-vineyard and fruit orchard. It is the ideal retreat for holidaying as a couple, a family or with friends, offering tranquility and relaxation in a delightful setting. Children adore the freedom to explore and play in our extensive grounds, while parents relax close by. Great care has been taken in the renovation to preserve its unique features and charm whilst providing every comfort and high quality amenities. Each gite is well equipped for your self-catering needs; family and French cookery enthusiasts alike. Guests always comment on our attention to detail and the child friendly nature of the property. Enjoy our heated pool, boules, table tennis, bikes and great walking and cycling straight from the garden. After a day sightseeing, it's the perfect place to take a dip, read, paint, or just unwind with an aperitif.
Additional Information:: We have a selection of reading material in each gite as well as a central collection of books, board games and an extensive DVD collection available to all guests.
Having a young child ourselves, there are plenty of children's games and toys (indoors and outdoors) to make good use of. We also have a dedicated play area with swing and slide, playhouse and cars and tricycles.
There are lakes nearby with sandy beach areas for paddling and using buckets and spades, which make a great alternative to days by the pool.
Owners on site: As owners on site, Mark and Lisa are always available to help with anything you might need to ensure you have a really enjoyable and comfortable holiday.

Summary: We had a great stay at this amazing place. This was exactly what we wanted- very nice accommodations, lots of space for our kids to explore, and a nice pool to cool off. Location was great for exploring the Loire valley, but you could also just spend the day relaxing at the pool! The gite is lovely- very nicely decorated, nice tall ceilings, lots of room, stayed cool in the heat. Every room had its own bathroom which was nice. Lovely deck with great views. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Summary: My wife and I stayed at Le Pressoir, the largest of the Gites available although it was just the two of us. We selected it for the deck area that is off the kitchen. The photos and actual deck are perfect to relax after a long day of sight seeing in the Loire Valley. It overlooks the estate and allowed us privacy for dining and relaxing outside with a glass of wine, bread and cheese. The Gite itself is setup very well. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all downstairs, and the temperature stays cool there, perfect for sleeping. The walls are very thick to accommodate this and to block sound. We stayed over two nights that had tremendous thunderstorms, but we barely heard it from the bedroom. A few days we were here were 90 degrees F (32C), but the downstairs remained very cool. The upstairs cooled off when we opened the door leading to the deck. Everything was clean, lots of cooking supplies provided, and Lisa and Mark leave a nice welcome package of Baguette, Wine, and other goodies - very thoughtful. Lisa is very friendly and helpful for anything necessary. We chatted with her a few times throughout our stay and enjoyed our conversations. The location is close to Angers and relatively close to Tours. If you are looking to go to many of the castles on the Eastern side of the Valley, it is a bit of a drive. However, we didn't mind and ended up going to Bourges for a day.

Summary: We had a fantastic holiday here, staying in the pressoir with our two and a half year old daughter. The property is really toddler friendly, safe and well equipped with everything you need from stair gates to a potty, high chair and toddler cutlery. Sun deck is safe, and from there you can see the garden. Loads of ride on toys, Wendy house, mini football pitch and of course a gated off heated pool!! You could spend your whole time just hanging out at the property and have a brilliant time. But... of course there is the local area to explore. So many options we hardly scratched the surface. Even with a toddler there was so much to choose from, a brilliant zoo, caves, chateaus, Terra Botanica gardens.... add to this the French food, and daily delivery from the local baker and the warm weather and we had a truly wonderful time! Lisa, Mark and Tom live in the main house and are lovely, friendly and super helpful hosts. Always on hand with suggestions and tips for days out, and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much!!! We hope we might return one day x

Summary: Le Logis is actually 4 self-catering gites and a chambre d'hôte (B&B), all near the home of hosts Lisa and Mark and strategically situated in the country side in the midst of Loire chateau country. My children and grandchildren stayed in a 2BR unit and I stayed next door in the chambre d'hôte, which has its own bathroom and tres-making facilities.Spotless, spacious, nicely decorated, plenty of room, wi-fi, the gite had complete kitchen and equipment, Lisa and Mark couldn't have been more gracious and friendly. On the spacious and well-planted grounds there is a football pitch, a table tennis table, a swimming pool (not yet uncovered in early April0 and other amenities such as a fully equipped washroom. Nothing so close as to feel crowded or noisy however. An excellent choice especially if you have children.

Summary: A great place to stay at any time of the year - we were pleasantly surprised when we turned in the drive and discovered the place! We had the chance to be able to stay in the " le Pressoir", a great place, spacious, spotless and very well equiped!! Our teenage daughter was smitten by her bedroom and our son loved the outdoor facilities, despite the rather cold and unfriendly rainy weather! We stayed for only 3 days, therefore we habe to come back again to discover Brion in sunshine and higher temperatures!! Thanks for everthing and " Aurevoir " ! Kind regards Monika and Simon Bruce/France PS: We can't remember anymore on which site we've discovered this place, but I think it doesn't matter too much...!
