The Bassett House, originally built in 1802, this large historic farmhouse was elegantly remodeled in 2018. North Haven, CT is centrally located and just minutes away from Yale, Quinnipiac, UNH and SCSU as well as shopping, the beat restaurants, hiking trails, state parks and beaches, and many local attractions including various vineyards. If you're planning a business trip or gathering with family and friends, then our home can provide you with an exceptional level of comfort during your time in CT!
This expansive home offers a luxury experience in a private and relaxed setting. It offers a large open concept 1st floor ideal for entertaining with a chef's kitchen that has a large island with seating for 5 while you watch the cook, a dining area that seats as little as 4 and can expand to 24 with another 5 at the gigantic island (think kids table) a large comfortable living room and a media room with an 80" TV perfect for watching your favorite movie or cheering on your favorite team. Sit out on the lanai and relax as you view the expansive private backyard with additional seating for your entire gathering.
There is an exercise room features a treadmill and T.V.
The second floor has 4 bedrooms that include 2 master suites with spa-inspired en-suite bathrooms. There is an additional full bath on the second floor with a tub and shower. There is a TV and cable service in every bedroom. There is also a full laundry available on the 2nd floor with iron and ironing board and laundry supplies provided complementary.
We allow tame/calm dinner parties or events with limits: Small gatherings are allowed as long as they aren't disruptive to the neighborhood or destructive to the property in any way. Unregistered guests (including local visitors) are not allowed on our property without our specific permission.

Summary: My family and friends greatly enjoyed our stay at the Basset House. Michael was extremely helpful in accommodating our needs, we had food, milk, beverages, fruits and pastry waiting for us on our check-in day. This place is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and organized and everyone feels like home there. We had a wonderful time and will hold beautiful memories from The Bassett House!

Summary: Simply amazing!! We would like to return on the first opportunity. It has been our VRBO experience ever. Everything was as expected or better. Ample spaces for our group of 9, including kitchen, living room, tv room. Michael was very attentive with all of our arrival needs, including basic groceries, fine toiletries, table set-up, etc. Totally recommend staying in this home.

Summary: What an incredible home The Bassett House is! The property is stunning and was set up so beautifully that upon arrival we were truly blown away. The openness of the floor plan, the incredible attention to detail throughout the home, and Michael’s gracious thoughtfulness made this the very best rental experience our family has had, bar none. We were in town for our son’s wedding and had a fantastic week. The house easily accommodated our family of four plus a few extended family members. We also hosted two events: a birthday dinner party and a brunch reception the day after the wedding. Everything we needed (and more!) was on site to host these events. Beautiful table settings, chafing dishes preset for us, all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. you need to cook full meals, and numerous suggestions from Michael on catering and/or take out. We had assumed that we’d need to cater our parties, but ended up happily cooking for both large meals ourselves. It is quite a rare experience to be able to host to such high level events in a rental home. But the set up here truly is exceptional. It was an amazing, beautiful, and fun stay! Thank you Michael so very much- you helped our family make our son’s wedding week the event of a lifetime! Some favorite details: The beds are fantastic (I wish I knew what brand the master bed is… I’d buy one today!). All linens, soaps, towels, etc. are luxurious. Fully stocked kitchen Super convenient location
