The villa was completely reconstructed in 2011 and improved Feruary 2019.
The house is on a rock, 20m above the ocean and has stairs which create a direct access to the famous white sand beach of Flamingo (the real Flamingo beach, also called playa Blanca).
The entire property is very private and protected against prying eyes. Also it is very safe. All buildings are protected by alarm systems and there are cameras mounted all around the property. We never had any problems!
From the terrace one will enjoy wonderful sunsets and if you are a little lucky you can observe wales crossing the bay. One can also enjoy the view from the inside living area. The big European isolated windows keep 99,9% of UV rays outside.
The house also contains a swimming pool, which runs on very little chlorine. Because of the so called “infinity edge” the pool seems as if it is a part of the ocean, making an almost seamless blend between the swimming pool and the water of the ocean, especially when the winds are calm. The pool also has a raised Jacuzzi attached to it, with a waterfall cascading down into the pool, generating a source of calming sound against the thunder of the ocean waves.
The property also contains two double story units, one used as a guestroom. On the wall right next to it, one can sometimes spot the occasional iguana lying in the sun (usually only in the early morning). On the other one a roof access has been built. From there one can enjoy all the beauty that Flamingo has to offer.
The outside terrace also has a big 50+ inch TV, so in the evening (which comes quite early in Costa Rica), one can enjoy such entertainment without being confined to the inside of the house. On the terrace there are also deck chairs for easy sunbathing whenever one feels the need to.
In general, the house is very open. The celling in the living room is around 8 meters high. Almost every room has big windows which can also be used as doors. In this way, one can generate enough airflow to not have to use the AC. This helps with the acclimatization process and will make ones experience of Costa Rica much more enjoyable.
New we did add another 2 bedroom with king size beds in the mainhouse.
This gives advantages to younger children because they can sleep close to their parents. In total 3 bed rooms are in the main house.
Now we improved the terrace and the pool. Please see the additional pictures.
The pool was modified, size 10m x 3,5m (33 ft x 11,5ft).

Summary: We loved our stay at the Sunset Villa! We had five kids ranging from 7 to 12 and four adult adults. The pool was absolutely perfect. The views were stunning. The location was wonderful close to the grocery store and amigos. We’re so glad we rented the golf cart to get to and from the beach and to the store as the walks are steep. Flamingo Beach is the best of all worlds with a low-key vibe. Great dinner options within a 10 minute golf cart ride. We loved exploring the neighboring beaches as well. The house itself has three spacious bedrooms in the main house one spacious bedroom in the Casita and a master suite next to the pool. Yessina was fantastic throughout. We were a messy family having 5 kids and she made it still feel clean and like vacation!

Summary: Everything about our stay was perfect, the Villa is even more beautiful in person and you cannot beat the sunsets. From the moment we opened the door we were all in awe at how beautiful and clean the place was. Yesenia, comes daily and make sure that we have everything we need and she leaves the place sparkling clean. Our host was very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend Sunset Villa. You will have a great time with the local beaches, and all the great restaurants right in the area.

Summary: Sunset Villa was perfect for our group of 9. The home was clean and well stocked for our needs. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful infinity pool and looking out at the beautiful view of Flamingo. We loved having the beach steps to access the beach. We also rented golf carts to go to town, which was so conveniently close to the villa. Yeesnia the housekeeper was super responsive and also respectful of our privacy. 10/10 recommend this villa!

Summary: We had 4 couples stay at Sunset Villa. We could not have been more pleased! The views are incredible and the sunsets can't be beat. As other reviewers have said, we had plenty of room to be together but also plenty of privacy. Even the rooms near the kitchen were quiet when others were in the kitchen. Fantastic property, easy communication with the owner and the housekeeper. Her translation app made it easy to "talk" with her. We couldn't have asked for a better place!

Summary: There were 10 friends who travel together yearly. Plenty of space and amazing sunsets in the pool. Yersinia was very quick to respond as was the owner. Golf cart rental is a must. All areas easily accessible by cart. Two negatives. As others have said the steps down to the beach are a hike going down and back up. You can always golf cart down to the more public beach. The other is that when we arrived on Sunday the pool was green with algae. People came out and worked on it that night and the next morning. Cleared up after a couple days but this was not a great look. Everything else was very very good.

Summary: I took my extended family, all ten of use to Playa Flamingo for a seven day trip over the new year. Everything regarding the home was exactly as described in the listing. One major concern was the safety of the three and five year olds with us, stairs to the beach, railing and other possible hazards. this ended being a non-issue. Communication with the owner was great along with his recommendations. We did have a car and golf cart which gave us the ability to do many day trips. We had a great stay and would love to come back some day.

Summary: Beautiful location and layout of property. Easy access to the beach with some tide pools. The infinity pool on the property was a big hit. We felt very safe and secure in this location. Comfortable beds and air conditioning. Very walkable to town with shops and restaurants.

Summary: 10 of us stayed at this beautiful property for a 40th birthday celebration, it was perfect! The house and view are even more gorgeous in person, it's called Sunset Villa for a reason!!! Checking in was a breeze, Yesenia was fabulous and we had no trouble communicating via Google Translate. Highly recommend renting a golf cart for convenient travel to the beach and around Playa Flamingo, although the stairs provided a great little work out! We rented vehicles as well so day tripping to Tamarindo and other towns was easy. Property was a little hard to find at first but once we did we had no trouble getting in and out of the area. We all had plenty of room to socialize or have some private time. The Casita is perfect for anyone with a baby or elderly folks who don't want to stay up late for the pool parties. LOTS of funs times in the beautiful pool and we made use of the kitchen too which was fully stocked to cook. 10/10 rent this villa, you will not be disappointed!!!
